"Mo-Yuan"is a structure entity that the Pre Qin doctors got by the means of anatomization, they drew this conclusion on the basis of morphology. They are fascial tissue which correlate with each other and were widely distributed in body, zang-fu organs, muscle, thoracic-abdominal, striae of skin and interspace. The Mo-Yuan theory research its structural characterization and the law of activities, as well as the interrelationships with zang-fu organs, Channels, body and organs. It is an important part of Viscera-state doctrine .The Viscera-state doctrine is the core of Huangdi's Internal Classic theory, therefore it is provided with important meaning to deepen it and perfect its clinic guiding effect, and that make Internal Classic theory system enrich ulteriorly.According to the differentiate and analyse of Mo-Yuan meaning, the Mo-Yuan is not only the fasciae in zang-fu organs or intestines and stomach, but also widely scatter in body, zang-fu organs, muscle, thoracic-abdominal, striae of skin and interspace. And as at that blood collaterals go medially, it is composed of fasciae, blood collaterals and clearances. Its functions includes connecting zang-fu organs and body, protecting muscles and organs, running qi and blood normally and so on.Huangdi's Internal Classic summed up the processes of Mo-Yuan theory's development, pointed out that it changed from studying morphology and structure to its development process of Mo-Yuan's functions. It treats"tri-jiao"as the core of conciliating structure and function. Viscera-state doctrine talked about it on its morphology and structure and functions. For morphology and structure aspect, it pointed out that Mo-Yuan is composed of fasciae, blood collaterals and clearances. It should be a entirety that contact mutually, connecting in zang-fu organs inside and communicating limbs outside. The part that communicating limbs coincides with muscle meridian theory, so it was included in the theory. However, the part that go in zang-fu organs formed its own theoretical system. It is different from Viscera-state doctrine in development. For physiological functions aspect, the functions of Mo-Yuan include keeping body, dredging wei-qi, connecting intestines and stomach, communicating tri-jiao and so on.From the study of herbs in history, we found that there is on record about the drugs directing Mo-Yuan in remote antiquity, first record about drugs directing Mo-Yuan is《De-Pei Material Medical》,and reflected that Mo-Yuan have close relationship with masses and phlegm. Base on the theory of drugs directing Mo-Yuan, it has obvious clinical curative effect on phlegm. Ming dynasty Wu You-ke made Amomum Tsao-ko as monarch drug to study out Dayuan Prescription, aimed to draw pathogen away and coordinate inside and outside. The reason to use Amomum Tsao-ko is because it can promote the circulation of qi and regulate spleen and stomach. Because spleen and stomach connected with each other by Mo-Yuan, spleen transports body fluid for stomach and body fluid permeating outside intestines and stomach into Mo-Yuan during upgoing. It is proved that intestines and stomach play an important part in transporting the body fluid. At the same time, it also derivecounter-evidenced that intestines and stomach can adjust functional activities of Mo-Yuan qi. Mo-Yuan is visible, and it is a channel; Tri-jiao is invisible, and it is an invisible channel. They are characteristic of themselves, though both them are the channel to transport the body fluid. Accordingly, it is possible why Dai Tian-zhan, Yu Gen-chu and He Lian-chen had believed that Tri-jiao is Mo-Yuan, more than that we cannot differentiate them easily nowadays.
