| ObjectiveThe study is aim to provide theoretical and practical basis for Yuan points, which are commonly used in clinical and scientific reaearch. Summarizing and analyzing the descriptions of diseases that the twelve Yuan points can cure from ancient literatures, and find out the indication rule about the twelve Yuan points. At the same time, to supply information for clinical application and scientific research of the twelve Yuan points.MethodsSelect the ancient medical literature from the Super Star Digital Library in our school library and Encyclopedia of Chinese medicine. Manual searching and machine retrieval are applied to get descriptions of the twelve Yuan points. Then sort the descriptions into two categories, the diseases applying of Yuan points only, and the diseases that applying of Yuan points with other points. Then analyze the data again and sort them into different department, such as Internal diseases of TCM, Surgery diseases of TCM, Gynecology medicine of TCM, Pediatrics diseases of TCM, Ophthalmology diseases of TCM, Otorhinolaryngology diseases of TCM, Dermatology diseases of TCM, Orthopedics and Traumatology diseases of TCM and so on. Then count the appearance frequency of the main symptom, and tabulate forms of different department diseases of the twelve Yuan points. Then divide the disesase into4categories, such as the disease of its own Zang or Fu organ, the meridian diseases of its own meridian, diseases of exteriorly-interiorly related to the meridian, and other diseases. Compare the differents between the Yuan points of yin meridian and the yang meridian.ResultsThrough summing up and analyzing ancient literature, conclude the twelve Yuan points indication rules.ConclusionThe main diseases treated by the Yuan points of yin meridian is different from the diseases that treated by the Yuan points of yang meridian. The Yuan points of yin meridian are commonly used to cure the disease of Zang organ, and the Yuan points of yang meridian are mostly used to treat the meridian disease of its own meridian. |
