Diabetic foot (DF) is a major mortality associated with diabetes mellitus for the risks of amputation .It has become a serious diseases with great harm to the health of people. Traditional Chinses Mdicine (TCM) has shown special advantages in treating DF. Deficiency in the diagnosis standard of DF in TCM slows down the development of TCM in treating DF. The study aimed in reaserching for the characraters and realations between the symptoms of DF and syndrome&signs of the TCM by suming up the progresses on the treatment of DF in both the western medicine and the TCM, learning from the director, and observing on the pacients with DF. The study consists of three parts. In the first part, the author sums up the study progress on the treatment of DF by TCM and the western medicine in the last 10 years. In the second part, the author sums up the academic idea of the drector on treating DF by TCM. In the last parts, we observed 104 cases with DF on the general symptoms ,local sympotoms, tongue coating and pulses, analysised the datas of the Lab. We carried on the statistic methods and get the concluses. Weatness of Vital energer (Qi and Yang ) and material are popular in the DF peoples. The basic damages in feet are dystrophy of skin, blood stasis in the vesules. Ulcers and gangarene are specific symbol in Type III and Type IV . There are four types of DF, according to the standard made by director professor Chen shu chang: Type I Qi and Xue deficiency causes dystrophy of skin . Type II qi deficiency causes blood circulation obstraction. Type III yin deficiency and blood stasis cause superficial ulcer and dry gangrene. Type IV the damp and heat cause wet gangrene. The statistical result in this series shows that significant defference in the symptoms and signs of the feet with DF among the four types. According to the national diagnosis standards of deseases in TCM symtoms and syndroms, we set up the diagnosis standard of DF by TCM .
