The purpose of this study was to observe the regularity in treating diabetic foot (DF) with dispersing, promoting and tonifying methods based on syndrome differentiation in TCM. DF is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus and it is common at clinic. It features by swift onset, severer syndrome and a high mortality. Although treatment of DF with integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine observes certain curative effect, it is a difficulty. Tutor Prof.Zhou Tao achieved better curative effect with dispersing, promoting and tonifying methods in different phases. Fasting blood glucose (FBG),total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),fibrinogen(FG),nitrous-oxide(NO),endotheliotoxin-1(ET-1),thromboxaneB2(TXB2),6-keto-prostaglandinF1(6-keto-PGF1) and some correlative fac- tors were measured in the 51 patients with DF. The results showed that treating DF with dispersing, promoting and tonifying methods enhanced the effective rate and provided reference for clinical treatment.
