AIDS was first reported by CDC (Centers for Disease Control of the United State in 1981, and was termed as Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in 1984, RNA virus was isolated, known as Human Immunodeficiency virus (HTV) in 1986. Thereafter, researches on HIV and AIDS progressed rapidly. First part of this thesis is mainly on review of the above story.Due to many factors, AIDS is still spreading widely through out the world, especially among the developing countries. Second part of this thesis is the summary of the present situations.In 1985, the first reported case of AIDS in our nation, several cases reported from different province thereafter. The third portion of this thesis as a special topics on the situation of AIDS here in China.The structure of HIV is well studied, the fourth portion of this thesis is the introduction of the above virus.Laboratory diagnosis of AIDS by identify the HIV or related, i.e. the antigen or antibody is still a challenging work, Part fifth of the thesis will discuss the issue.The criteria for clinical diagnosis of AIDS is different in different countries due to different situation of different nations, the sixth portion will discuss different diagnostic criteria in different areas, with special interest on the diagnostic criteria in our mother land, China.The treatment of AIDS and the related disorders are, at present, still poorly progressed. The seventh portion of the thesis is a brief discussion on the present situations in the challenge of treating AIDS in the western way.The eighth portion of the thesis is the major topic of this thesis, focused on the treatment of AIDS through the TCM way.Talking of disease treatment without mentioning prevention of the disease is still incompletes, the ninths portion of this thesis served the purpose, from both the individual, society as well as the national levels.The policies of the government or the nation towards certain disease, especially on the topic of AIDS, might play a major role in the control of the disease. The last portion attached some guidelines from the government of China as well as WHO informations related to AIDS, for reference purpose.
