The behavior of Leadership is an extending of leadership trends on “effective companies”. The effective teaching of employees is the performance of its effectiveness. In early stage, leadership elements such as trait theory, behavior theory, situational leadership and the trade leadership, are all an extending on Burns’ leadership behavior patterns theory. His theory is also in line with today’s new era of leadership behavior.Recently, Harvard Business review magazine starts a series of discussion booming on redefining leadership. It emphasizes on the building leadership brands according to the guidelines of leadership. The main responsibility of the managers of SME is defining strategic objectives for the organization, maintaining the competitive advantage of the organization and leading all the employees work toward the organization’s objective.Manager’s behavior will affect the company’s profitability and the future direction of business development directly,and its importance is indisputable.This study investigates the variables of the manager’s background which refers their explicit background,such as gender,marital status,age,education,seniority, payment and etc.The purpose of this study is to find out the differences in SMEs managers’ background in the region of Taiwan. Also it is to discover the effect of the manager’s personality and background differences on his job satisfaction. There are many scholars discussing different personality factors; however,this study focus on the effect of SMEs managers’ personality differences on their leadership behavior and job satisfaction. The research bases on the scale of the two physicians: type A and type B personality traits posted by Dr.Friedman and Dr. Rosenman in 1974. In addition, "locus of control scale" amended by Wu Zaihui in 1975 is used on managers’ personality traits evaluation in this research.Another focus of this study to explore job satisfaction in charge of SMEs. For the managers’ satisfaction, business owners need to invest a lots in terms of “extrinsic satisfaction”, such as job security,salary,benefits,etc. Besides, they also need to know if the managers can get along with the staff, so called “intrinsic satisfaction”. And one more, “general satisfaction”, which means moral values,opportunities for participation,evaluation, etc. If the company pays much attention to executives award, promotion system,preparation for the long-term career planning in order to let them have a common understanding and create common interests of the company, the managers’ satisfaction will be higher.Finally, taking into account the managers’ interaction between the business owner and the employees,so called relationships,positive relationship helps the executives and the organization members to have good interaction and coordination, and effectively develops their leadership behavior. Conversely, bad relationship causes hostility, and produces negative interference to leadership.Thus, the relationship of the managers’ leadership is set as a disturbance variable,which is also one of the focus of this study.This study prepared by groundbreaking new survey,not only presents a view of the managers’ leadership, but also intends to provide valuable reference for managers,leadership behavior on SMEs.
