In the current social and economic environment with sustainable development, the national automobile industry is developing rapidly and steadily. With the rapid development of automobile industry, vehicle consumers have a higher demand of warranties service. With the progress of automotive technology, the reliability of automotive has improved gradually. At the same time, the service in the region of base warranty cannot meet the needs of the consumers. Consumers need to obtain better service, such as, the better quality of vehicle, extended warranties service, the service region of base warranty, et al. Aiming at the existing problems of automobile manufacturers and the research status in the field of warranty, a service strategy is proposed in the paper, which can provide methodological guidance for automobile manufacturer launching two- dimensional extended warranties service.In this paper, the main research content includes the following several parts:In the first part, we carry on the overall research about this study, include, the research background, the research status, the research content et al. Firstly, through the analysis of the automobile industry and the research in the field of warranty, we can obtain the actual problems. And then, through literature review, we can get the research trend in the field of warranty and the scientific questions which need to study. Finally, we proposed the two-dimensional extended warranty service strategy based on usage rate.In the second part, we conducted a demand forecasting research on two-dimensional extended warranties service. In this part, we can classify consumers into three groups including low usage rate consumers, medium usage rate consumers and high usage rate consumers, which are based on the usage rate, and then this paper analyses the demand of two-dimensional extended warranties service of the three groups, respectively. This paper applied the experiments with economic principles to the demand forecast process of two-dimensional extended warranties service, and carried out the two-dimensional extended warranties service demand forecast analysis. The results of this study provide automobile manufacturers with method on forecasting of two-dimensional extended warranties service.In the third part, we conducted a research on two-dimensional extended warranties cost data mining based on fuzzy rough set. In order to make clear the relation between key factors and warranty cost, a two-dimensional extended warranties cost data mining model based on fuzzy rough set was proposed. The results of an illustrative example indicated that the model can reduce attributes of the inconsistent decision information system, and mine two-dimensional extended automotive warranties cost decision rules. The results show that, this study can provide a guideline for automotive manufacturers cost management.In the fourth part, we conducted a design and optimization research on two-dimensional extended warranties maintenance strategy. First, a two-dimension extended warranties failure model based on usage rate was proposed. And then, a two-dimensional extended warranties cost model combined with minimal repair and imperfect repair to reduce the extended warranty cost. The results show that: the model proposed by this paper can effectively reduce two-dimension extended warranties cost.In the fifth part, we proposed a designing and pricing model of two-dimensional extended warranties contracts. The mathematical model is divided into two categories: the purchase of two-dimensional extended warranties service at the point of sale and the expiration of the base warranty. Based on the maintenance strategy used during the extended warranties, we classify this study under the minimal repair and combined maintenance strategy models. With the use of the failure and usage rate distribution functions, the mathematical pricing models of each sub-case are presented.
