Industrial Agglomeration、Spatial Spillover And Economic Efficiency In Western Region

Since the reform and opening-up nearly 40 years ago, Chinese economic and social development has made remarkable achievements, facing with unprecedented complex situations and challenges. During "the twelfth five-year" and even a longer period, our country has been at the critical period of reform of the economic system, at a crucial period of reform and opening up and the optimized development period of the three industries. As the important function part and the late-development areas of economic and social development in our country, the development of western China is facing with higher demands and challenges. To promote a strategy for a new round of western development and the implementation of the strategy of "new silk road economic belt" in 2020, this article will research the industry agglomeration and efficiency of economic growth in western China.And Integrated using methods of experience summary, comparative analysis, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis and so on, this paper researched the mechanism optimization problem of Industrial clusters and regional economic coordinated development in western China, in order to provide some decision references for making industries development strategy of western region and even keeping the economy growthing steadily and developing harmoniously in China.The main contents of the paper are:First, it is the introduction part. This part Mainly introduces the research background, research purpose and significance, the research method, the research technique route and innovation points. At the same time, it also define related concept which involved in the research.And then, related literature summary. As the basis of research, this chapter reviewed the related literature major. To start from overseas and domestic studies of industry agglomeration, spatial econometric economics and economic efficiency, this paper compared and systemized the relevant research literature, summarized and extracted the strengths and weaknesses of existing research possessory, which lay the solid theoretical foundation for subsequent research.Then the next part belongs to the theoretical analysis of the thesis: study the influencing mechanism of industry agglomeration on economic development. The formation of the industrial concentration is not accidental phenomenon, which is all favorable factors to promote. In this chapter, I analyze the industry agglomeration about characteristics, compare the type, and discusses the forming conditions and the ways to promote regional economic growth, and on this basis using fixed space LS model to analyze the mechanism of industrial agglomeration effect on economic development. The results show that, First, the formation of industrial agglomeration by "demand correlation effect" and "spillover effects of capital" promote the core of regional economic growth, but which has "market crowded effect" is limit its role in promoting regional economic growth to a certain extent; second, when industrial agglomeration manifest effect "crowded" market, the focus and core elements about the development of the regional resources will probably flow to the surrounding radiation region, and then generate capital accumulation effect and technology effect ultimately drive the radiation of the regional economy development; third, although the formation of industrial concentration will affect the original welfare level of fairness, but we can improve the regional trade between freedom and marginal share of the manufacturing industry to improve the welfare of the local level.And then makes an empirical analysis based on the theoretical derivation. First of all, the paper analysis with spatial econometric from the perspective of provincial. Using the principle of spatial agglomeration, the paper analyzes the present situation of three industry agglomeration in western China during 2001 and 2012, and then uses the three stage DEA model to calculate the economic development comprehensive efficiency value about 12 western provinces and cities in 2001-2012, and finally uses the spatial panel model to investigate the comprehensive practical implications of industrial agglomeration on the efficiency of the western economic development. The results show that, First, by 2012, there have been formed stable three industry spatial agglomeration in western China; Second, from 2001 to 2012 the overall level of economic development in western China comprehensive efficiency is 0.8591, which is relatively ideal, but is still evident difference between different provinces; Third, region economic development comprehensive efficiency are significant positive autocorrelation from 2001 to 2012 in the western, and three industrial agglomeration have significant role in promoting comprehensive economic efficiency, but affected by the existing unreasonable industrial agglomeration, the comprehensive economic efficiency is not able to give full play. And then, the paper analysis with spatial econometric from the perspective of county. This chapter choose Chong Qing as an example to study the mutual relationship between industrial agglomeration and economic development of each district and county. The results show tha: first,by 2012, there has been formed three industry agglomeration which have their own features in Chong Qing; the overall level of economic development comprehensive efficiency is 0.6394, which is average performance from 2001 to 2012 in Chong Qing; during the inspection, Chong Qing economic development comprehensive efficiency mean effective for: yuzhong district and dadukou district, then followed by: chengkou, jiulongpo district, beibei, bishan, nanchuan, rongchang, tongnan county, tongliang, wulong county, jiangbei, dazu county, liangping county, nanan distract, banan, dianjiang county, shapingba district, wuxi, yongchuan, shuangqiao, Xiu Shan County, qianjiang district, yubei district, qijiang county, wansheng, changshou county, hechuan, fuling, wushan, fengdu, jiangjin, zhongxian, wanzhou district, pengshui county, fengjie county, kaixian, You Yang County, yunyang; region economic development comprehensive efficiency are significant positive autocorrelation during the inspection in Chong Qing, and three industrial agglomeration have significant role in promoting comprehensive economic efficiency, but affected by the existing unreasonable industrial agglomeration, the comprehensive economic efficiency is not able to give full play, in which promoting degree from high to low in turn as follows: the second industry, the third industry, and the first industry.The following is: the optimize mechanism design of the industrial agglomeration in western China. In this chapter, with useing the principle of spatial agglomeration dividing three industry agglomeration in the western China, and using the spatial panel model investigating the factors, I put forward some suggests to optimize three industrial agglomeration mechanism with the coordinated development of regional economy in 2001-2012.Conclusions: industrial agglomeration can promote technological innovation, knowledge spillover, and then from the angle of influence of regional economic development; Western China(including Chongqing District) three industry formed a stable spatial cluster in the geographical location; agglomeration model through the empirical research on the western region industry on regional economic development efficiency the overall level of 0.8591, the performance is more ideal; western region economy development efficiency in space there is a significant positive correlation, but there are certain spatial spillover effects; factors affecting the three industrial cluster development in the western region is different, should optimize the development measures of western economy, improve the economic efficiency of industrial clusters.Paper has the following theoretical and methodological innovations:First, the efficiency measure of economic development and three industry has certain innovation. Thesis adopts three-stage DEA efficiency method which is the international forefront measurement to calculate the efficiency value of the corresponding economic and industry in western China, which ensure the accuracy of the research.Second, based on spatial framework analyzes the interaction mechanism between industry agglomeration and regional economic. This study is based on the LS model of spatial economics, and introduce factors overflow of the knowledge and technical, which detailed analysis the action mechanism of industry agglomeration on economic development differential, and laid a theoretical foundation for empirical test which combined with reality industrial agglomeration and regional economic development in western China.Third, combined spatial measurement and efficiency measure to study the spatial spillover effects of economic development in western China, which broaden the corresponding research perspectives. First, regardless of the regional economy and three industry all have obvious spatial properties, traditional measurement method is not able to better deal with the problem. This article research ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the conclusion from two aspects of, which make up for the deficiency of the traditional measuring method. Secondly, studying the development efficiency of three industry agglomeration in western China from the spatial spillover perspective, which is the first time in the related western region research. In addition, the paper divide three industrial agglomeration in western China with the spatial agglomeration theory, which is another innovation in the article.
