Work passion is a new and rich connotation concept of positive psychology, which comprised by three components of cognition, motivation and affect. Inspiring work passion of employees can produce the optimum work performance and increase the work satisfaction and psychological well-being. Thus, work passion becomes a valuable subject of positive psychology and organization field. Nevertheless, in practice, managers find that most of employees in the modern enterprises are lack of work passion. Therefore, under such situation, researchers need to explore the generation and influences of work passion immediately, and, provide the theoretical direction for managers to stimulate and maintain the work passion of employees. However, in the field of research, because the relative studies of work passion emerged in recent years and few academic researches, there are large quantities of problems have not been studied. For instance, the construct of work passion is unclear; the relationship among work passion, work perfornmace and psychological well-being is uncertainty; there is lack of systematic study of gereation mechanism of work passion; the influence path of work passion on work performance is neither clear nor certain.Foucus on the new construct of work passion, by using literature research, the present study established an influence mechanism integrated model of work passion on work performance by integrating the Dualistic Model of Passion, Conceptual Model of Employee Work Passion, Conceptual Model of the Experience of Entrepreneurial Passion, and Conceptual Model of Passion Contagion. And by using the investigation method, the present study investigated several times and surveyed more than one thousand employees and corresponding managers of enterprises in Beijing, Tianjing, Hebei and Shandong. The present study use both cross-sectional method and longitudinal method inculuding two time-points lagging method and two time-points tracking method.On the basis of influence mechanism integrated model of work passion on work performance and the classification of work passion proposed by Dualistic Model of Passion, the present study conducted theoretical and empirical research deeply for the following problems. Firstly, the relationship between two types of work passion and work performance with four dimensions was discussed. Secondly, the generation mechanism of work passion was examed. Thirdly, the mediation mechanism of work passion on work performance was explored. The research results improved the theoreical and empirical research of relationship between work passion and work perfornmace, explained the generation and influnece rules of work passion, realized the integrating of generation mechanism and influence mechanism of work passion, exceeded the previous relative studies, promted the development of work passion study, and provided valuable passion management measures for organizations.The main conclusions of present study are as follows:Firstly, there are close relationship among work passion, work performance and psychological well-being of employees. Harmonious work passion can promote both work performance and psychological well-being of employees. Though obsessive work passion can increase the work performance significantly, it can undermine the psychological well-being. So, harmonious work performance can be the key type of work passion for passion management.Secondly, in the generation mechanism of work passion, internalization extrinsic work motivation is the most fundermental and critical process. The work cognition and work affct evaluations will bring the work passion through the process of internalization of extrinsic work motivation, and the interaction of autonomy support environment and causality orientation of employees will also bring the work passion through the process of internalization of extrinsic work motivation.Trirdly, the influence mechanism of work passion on creative performance is an integrated mechanism of cognitive, motivational and affective mechanisms. There are three main effecting paths:(1) harmonious work passion→motivational mechanism→cognitive mechanism→creative performance;(2) harmonious work passion→affective mechanism→cognitive mechanism→creative performance;(3) obsessive work passion→motivational mechanism→cognitive mechanism→creative performance.In the end of the present study, the general discussion and conclusions were proposed, and the limitations and future directions were discussed.
