Research On Coordinated Development And Sustainability Of China 's Telecommunication Industry And National Economy

China’s telecom industry is one of the most important basic industries in the national economy system, which is of great strategic significance in social transformation and economic growth. Chinese government has ranked it as a focus in the development of strategic emerging industries in the12th Five-Year Plan. However, changes in user demand and the development of mobile internet have brought new opportunities and challenges to the telecom industry, and put forward new requirements for the sustainable development strategy of China’s telecom industry.Under the new circumstances, what is the status of the telecom industry development in China? What role does the telecom industry play in the national economic growth? Is the telecom industry in coordination with national economic development? How to ensure sustainable and healthy development of the telecom industry to support the national economic growth? Those are the problems to be solved in this paper.Based on such considerations, this paper mainly studies the following points and achievements are as follows:First of all, the paper evaluates the status of China’s telecom industry development. It analyzes the market structure, investment benefit, business development, communications capability, and production efficiency with methods of HHI index analysis, descriptive statistical analysis and data envelopment analysis. The results show that, in recent years, the imbalanced situation of China’s telecommunications market competition has improved, that the service level has been increased rapidly, that tariff levels continue to decline, and that the overall level of the production efficiency is higher, all of which powerfully support the development of national economy. Second, this paper analyzes the role of the telecom industry in national economic growth so as to define the position of telecom industry in the national economy system. With the Input-Output Model, the paper analyzes the structure effect and the growth effect of the telecom industry. With the panel data model, the paper analyzes the influence of telecommunications infrastructure on the total factor productivity, which shows that China’s telecommunications infrastructure has a positive effect on the total factor productivity. On the whole, the telecom industry has a positive effect on the transformation of national economic growth pattern.Third, this paper evaluates the coordination between China’s telecom industry and the national economic development in the expectation that the telecom industry can better meet the demands of the national economic development. Based on the optimization theory, the dynamic evaluation model is built to evaluate the coordination between the telecom industry and the development of national economy in China. The results show that, on the whole, the two are not in a coordinated relationship, and that there are regional differences. The eastern China has the highest coordination level, the mid-China is second to it, and the western region is the worst. According to the research, the redundant investment in telecommunications is the important cause leading to the imbalanced situation. In addition, the paper puts forward the policy recommendations, such as taking the transformation platform operation and cloud computing development as an opportunity to revitalize the resource utilization efficiency.Finally, the paper formulates a sustainable development strategy for the telecom industry in China, so as to ensure the sustainable development of the telecommunications industry in the future, and continuously satisfy the demands of the national economic development in our country. Based on the overall analysis of the new competition level, industry structure, driving force of development and profit source of telecommunications in China, combined with the development trend of big data, this paper establishes the goal to realize the strategic transformation of the telecom industry towards the whole business platform operation, constructs the whole business platform model and ecological system model, and conducts an evolutionary game analysis of the cooperative competition relationship between members. The results indicate that the interest distribution mechanism, the platform cost and incentive mechanism will influence the evolution direction of the game process and the formation of an ultimately stable state. Furthermore, based on this, the paper devises a collaborative growth mechanism of the platform ecosystem.
