Since the reform and opening up,China’s economic development has made amazing achievements.At the same time,behind this rapid development,it is unavoidable to face some environmental problems.Resource depletion and environmental degradation have become bottlenecks hindering economic development.In order to solve this bottleneck,the state has taken relevant measures,and for the first time,green development has been included in the 13 th Five-Year Plan,during the 14 th Five-Year Plan period,the need to adhere to the harmonious coexistence of man and nature was emphasized again.All government departments should attach great importance to the coordinated development of economy,resources and environment.Green total factor productivity is a comprehensive indicator that reflects the coordinated development of economy,resources and environment,and can better reflect the coordination between economic development and environmental carrying capacity.Optimization and upgrading of industrial structure is closely related to green total factor productivity,but in the past research process,the main focus is on the relationship between optimization and upgrading of industrial structure and green economic growth,and few literatures consider the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green economic development from the perspective of foreign direct investment or environmental regulation.Therefore,in-depth analysis of the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green total factor productivity is of great significance for the healthy and stable development of green economy.This paper studies the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green total factor productivity based on a combination of theory and empirical methods.In the theoretical research part,based on the existing literature and related mechanisms,the mechanism of the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure on green total factor productivity is deeply explored.In the empirical research part,based on the combination of the linear model and the nonlinear threshold model,the non-radial and non-angular directional distance function SBM model is used,combined with the Malmquist-Luenberger(ML)index,and the energy input and undesired production are fully considered.Through the comparison,it is found that there are obvious differences in the green total factor productivity of various provinces.As the green total factor productivity index is decomposed into a technological progress index and a technological efficiency index,it is found that the technological progress of each province is The progress index is generally greater than the technical efficiency index,indicating that the significant growth of green total factor productivity in each province mainly depends on the development of green technology progress.Therefore,in order to further explore the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green total factor productivity,this paper selects the time node of panel data from 2004 to 2019.First,using the "OLS + robust standard error" and systematic GMM linear model method to optimize and upgrade the industrial structure affects green total factor productivity.Then,an innovative panel threshold regression model with foreign direct investment and environmental regulation as the threshold variables was established to study the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on the impact of green total factor productivity under different levels of foreign direct investment or environmental regulation.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)Overall,the effects of industrial structure advancement and industrial structure rationalization on green total factor productivity are both positive,and the impact of industrial structure advancement is greater than that of industrial structure rationalization.A transmission mechanism with obvious effect,which also fully verifies that the rationalization of industrial structure is the premise of the advanced industrial structure,and the advanced industrial structure is the inevitable result of the rationalization of the industrial structure.By regression of the decomposition term of green total factor productivity,it is found that technological progress brought about by rationalization and advanced industrial structure is the main aspect of green total factor productivity improvement.(2)Through the dynamic panel regression model to test and analyze the influence results of each variable,it is found that the regression results of green total factor productivity(ln GTFP)lag one period are significantly positive,indicating that the green total factor productivity of the previous period has a significant impact on the green total factor productivity of the latter period,and the previous phase of industrial structure advanced(ln TS)also has a positive role in promoting the latter phase.The rationalization of the industrial structure in the current period promoted the advanced industrial structure,which further affected the green total factor productivity.(3)Taking foreign direct investment as the threshold variable,it is found that foreign direct investment has a significant threshold effect,that is,the relationship between industrial structure optimization and upgrading and green total factor productivity is not a simple linear relationship,but is affected by different levels of foreign direct investment,and There are two critical values of foreign direct investment.When the level of foreign direct investment is located in different ranges,there is a significant difference between the rationalization of industrial structure and the upgrading of industrial structure for the improvement of green total factor productivity,and increasing the level of foreign direct investment is conducive to improvement.The impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green total factor productivity.(4)Taking environmental regulation as the threshold variable,it is found that environmental regulation has a significant double-threshold effect,that is,environmental regulation has two critical values,and the impact of industrial structure optimization and upgrading on green total factor productivity is affected by the level of environmental regulation.At the lower level of environmental regulation,the rationalization of the industrial structure has a negative impact on green total factor productivity,indicating that at a lower level of environmental regulation,the industrial structure is unreasonable.With the improvement of the level of environmental regulation,the more reasonable the industrial structure,the more beneficial the improvement of green total factor productivity.At the same time,the impact of the advanced industrial structure on green total factor productivity is significantly positive with the improvement of the level of environmental regulation.However,if the environmental regulation is too strong,the impact of the advanced industrial structure on green total factor productivity is weakened.Therefore,appropriate measures should be implemented.Finally,based on the above conclusions,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: formulate corresponding industrial encouragement and prohibition policies,develop characteristic and advantageous industries,and optimize industrial structure;encourage and support technological innovation,especially green production technology and environmental protection technology,promote Technological progress;strengthen the level of opening to the outside world,and introduce high-quality green foreign investment;give full play to the comprehensive synergy of environmental regulation and industrial structure optimization and upgrading. |
