Research On The Impact Of Industrial Structure Change On Total Factor Productivity In Liaoning Province

The report of the 19th National Congress of CPC clearly points out that in the new historical period,China’s economic growth mode is gradually changing,and the high-speed economic development is beginning to shift to high-quality development.As one of the old industrial bases in Northeast China,Liaoning Province has a high proportion of traditional heavy industries,and most of the prefecture-level cities in the province are resource-based cities with a single industrial structure,which is accompanied by the pressure of resource depletion and increasing resource constraints behind the economic growth.Therefore,at this stage,adjusting the industrial structure,changing the economic development mode and achieving higher quality economic development have become the key to the economic development of Liaoning Province.In-depth research on the impact of industrial structure change on total factor productivity in Liaoning Province is important to promote efficient and sustainable economic development in Liaoning Province.In this thesis,using the data related to industrial structure advanced,industrial structure rationalization,infrastructure level,science and technology investment level,human capital level,financial deepening level,economic development level and total factor productivity of14 prefecture-level cities in Liaoning Province,we use generalized least squares model to study the linear effect of industrial structure change on total factor productivity in Liaoning Province,and on this basis,we use panel threshold model to estimate The findings show that:the advanced industrial structure of Liaoning Province promotes total factor productivity,the rationalization of industrial structure has a negative impact on total factor productivity,i.e.,unreasonable industrial structure inhibits total factor productivity growth,and total factor productivity in Liaoning Province is negatively affected by the level of human capital and the level of scientific and technological input,and is affected by the level of financial deepening,the level of economic development and the level of infrastructure.There is no threshold effect of industrial structure rationalization on total factor productivity in Liaoning Province,and there is a single threshold effect of industrial structure rationalization on total factor productivity,and when industrial structure rationalization is less than the threshold value of0.056,industrial structure rationalization has a significant inhibitory effect on total factor productivity improvement,and when industrial structure rationalization When the industrial structure rationalization crosses the threshold value of 0.056,the inhibitory effect of industrial structure advanced on total factor productivity changes to a positive promoting effect,the industrial structure advanced on total factor productivity is not bound to play a positive promoting effect,which depends to some extent on whether the level of industrial structure rationalization crosses the threshold value.According to the findings of this thesis,the following countermeasures are proposed:promoting the coordinated development of industrial structure rationalization and industrial structure advanced,enhancing the level of total factor productivity;strengthening the level of high quality human capital and improving factor allocation;strengthening the modernization,improving the financial market system and improving the level of financial deepening;promoting technological progress and improving technical efficiency.
