During the progress of computer technology, color is accordingly becoming an overlapped domain of art and computer-aided design (CAD) technology. As an aided tool of color design, the technique routine of computer becomes a choke point when it comes to art issues. It is necessary to quantify affective principles of color into data model for computing and processing purposes. On the other hand, new color theories and color processing technologies are about to emerge, due to the booming of CAD technology and CG art. However, current technologies are mainly limited in solving chromaticity matters, leaving computing and processing the relations of multi-color combination almost untouched, even there are already developed technologies of color display and standardization on color digitalizing. Thus, a new territory of color research is unfolding, in which color theories will be built on CAD perspective.By setting view both on chromatology and computer technology, the author tries to analyze perceptual factors on color cognition, build affective model for processing and computing, and seek for digital transformation method of affective factors and design rules. By this means, Traditional color theories and cognitive color principles can be merged into color computing technology, and become the fundamental color language of CAD and CG art. In this project, the author found quantifying and computing methods for affective factors, and built affective models of color, respectively on harmony, preference, and composition issues. In the section of color harmony quantification and harmonious color scheme generation, a set of computing principles attaining harmony were built in the HSL color space, and the method of generating harmonious color scheme was tested. In the section of color preference quantification and modeling, a method of six-dimension model was designed to make representation of color preference features. Then, the method of user-oriented preferential color scheme generation was built on the basis of the model. In the section of quantifying color gestalt composition factors, a three-dimension model of area proportion, patch amount, and distribution for each individual color was designed for representing the influence of color gestalt composition.Considering color combination as integral object, this article solves interactive computing problems of general color principles, via quantifying color relation features and building computable data model. Thereby, the author sets foot on a new way of color computing and color CAD research.
