Part I Clinical application of EBCT and three-dimensionalreconstruction in diagnosis of aorto-arteritis.Objective To study the clinical value of EBCT angiography (EBCTA) and three-dimensional reconstruction in evaluating luminal changes of aorto-arteritis. Materials and Methods Forty-Two patients with clinical symptoms suggestive of aorto-arteritis underwent EBCTA from Apr. 1996 to Jan. 2001. Of these 42 patients, 33 female and 9 male, the age ranged from 4 to 58 years with mean age of 32 ± 12 years. EBCT was performed with Imatron 150-XP system using contrast enhancment. The 3D images were generated with maximum intensity projection, shaded surface display and multiplanar reformation. Conventional angiograpy and pathologic study in 7 cases and 11 cases. Results EBCTA cleary depicted various luminal changes, including stenosis, occlusion, dilatation and aneurysm in aorta and its major branches. The sensitivity and specificity were 96% and 100%, respectively. Conclusion EBCTA clearly depicts luminal changes in the aorta and its major branches and has a high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of aorto-arteritis.Part II Clinical application of EBCT in evaluating muralchanges of aorto-arteritis.Objective To evaluate the clinical value of EBCT angiography (EBCTA) in evaluating mural changes of aorto-arteritis. Materials and MethodsForty-Two patients with clinical symptoms suggestive of aorto-arteritis underwent EBCTA from Apr. 1996 to Jan. 2001. Of these 42 patients, 33 female and 9 male.
