Study On The Plasma Lipid Profiles And Related Environmental And Hereditary Risk Factors In Yi And Hans Nationalities Of Liangshan Area

Objective: The variations of plasma lipid and apolipoprotein levels between individuals are due to environmental and hereditary influences. The environmental factors include mainly the dietary composition and lifestyle. Data from epidemiological and experimental studies indicated that fat consumption significantly affects plasma lipid levels, anyhow, studies from Western populations have considered that about 50 to 60% of the variability of plasma total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and HDL cholesterol are attributed to genetic factors.
