ObjectiveTo summarize the number of cases with metastasis of Robson â…  -â…¡ stage renal cell carcinoma after operation during the year of 1991-2000 in peking union medical college hospital and to analyze their clinical characteristics and their prognosis.To study the primary mechanism of metastasis of Robson â…  -â…¡ stage renal cell carcinoma after surgical operation through expression of KAI-1 , Ki-67 and HER-2/neu on RCC and to evaluate their clinical significance.MethodsTwo hundred and fifty-two patients with RCC underwent surgical operations and were diagnosed as Robson â…  -â…¡ stage postoperatively. Twenty-four patients were found metastases by long-term follow-up and their clinical data were summarized and analyzed(defined as metastasis group). Thirty patients were chosen as control group with similar clinical and pathological characteristics of metastatic RCC from whom no metastasis happened.
