| Nerve agents such as Sarin, Tabun and Soman are parts of organic phosphorus esters to which organophosphorus pesticide belong. Animal models of acute organophosphorus poisoning were induced. Poisoned rabbits' kidneys and livers were investigated by color Doppler flow imaging, spectrum Doppler and integrated backscatter. Ultrasonic examinations were performed at different time after the rabbits were poisoned. There are four different dosages of poisoning. The results show that with the increasing dosage and prolonging time of poisoning, the changing of kidney hemodynamics and integrated backscatter correspond with pathology and reflect the changing trend of urinary retinol binding protein. Changing of liver integrated backscatter is consistent with pathology, too. Useful information can be offered by ultrasound at either war or peace time when impaired kidney and liver caused by organophosphorus compounds are diagnosed. |
