Ceramic restorations with excellent biocompatibility and optical properties are widely used in dentistry. The bonding strength of ceramic restorations to teeth has great influence on final restorative effect. Resin cements are the material of choice for the adhesive luting of all ceramic restorations. A strong durable resin bond provides high retention, improves marginal adaptation and prevents microleakage, and increases fracture resistance of the restored tooth and the restoration.A strong resin bond relies on micro-mechanical interlocking and chemical bonding to the ceramic surface, which requires roughening and cleaning for adequate surface activation. To obtain optical bond strength, this in vitro study evaluated the effects of various combinations of silane coupling agents and surface roughing treatments on the shear bond strength of ceramic material to resin, and evaluated the effects of various combinations of porcelain bonding systems and ceramic surface roughing treatments on the bonding of porcelain to bovine enamel to choose the appropriate combinations. In addition, the effects of shade on mechanical strength of resin cements and bond strength of resin cements to ceramic were also evaluated in this study. Here are the results: 1. Silane coupling agents Etching and Sandblasting all had significant influence on shear bond strength of ceramic to resin.
