Benoto pile is one kind of bored piles which is constructed by a special construction. Because of the wide using in the field of foundation engineering, study on the engineering properties and construction technology of Benoto pile is important and necessary.Engineering properties and construction technology of Benoto pile are systematically studied in this paper by the means of theoretical analyzes, elaborate in-situ tests and numerical analysis. The main contributions are as follows:(1) Based on the research of engineering properties,construction machines and construction technology of Benoto pile at home and abroad, the problems of engineering properties and construction technology of Benoto pile have been put forward;(2) Based on analysing of test results, Engineering properties of Benoto pile is different with the artificial hole pile and general bored piles. Moreover, the characters of hyperbola of load and displacement curve has been found by the hyperbola model. So hyperbola fit method is a good method for forecasting the bearing capacity of Benoto pile;(3) Engineering properties of Benoto pile with enlarged base is better than the one of general Benoto pile. Because the bearing capacity of Benoto pile with enlarged base is several times of the general bored piles, it is more economical adopting the Benoto design. Based on the elasticity method for lateral displacement of pile in this paper, It is revealed that both lateral displacements calculated by theory method and measured in-situ tests are very close. According to the result in-situ tests, it is also found that lateral bearing capacity of Benoto pile is improved, because the soil beside pile is not effect when constructing pile.(4) The finite element method(FEM) is used to calculate the displacement field and stress field of pile and soil after the rational calculation model,contact elements,boundary condition and parameters of pile and soil have been choosed. Because the result by FEM is very close with the one in-situ, the validity of using method of FEM to study on the sigle pile engineering properties is proved inhere. (5) In this chapter, the influence factors of modulus ratio of soil under and beside pile, modulus ratio of pile and soil beside pile and length and diameter ratio of pile have been systematically studied. It is reverales that the influence factors above mentioned have obvious effect on the load-dispacement curve,displacement field and skin friction.(6) Based on the study of technique and economy and problemes of Benoto pile and the secant pile, the necessity of studing the construction technologies of Benoto pile and the secant pile has become very obvious. In this paper, the construction technologies, some pivotal technologies and some disposal methods of incidents in hole are systematically studied.
