In Concurrent Engineering, Product Structure (PS) and Development Process (DP) play important roles. Product Structure is the goal of concurrent procuct development, and Development Process is the means of concurrent product development. They affect and depend on each other. They decide the effect and efficiency of concurrent product development together. The research about Product Structure and Development Process can help to improve the product development capability, accelerate the development speed, shorten product development cycle, and enhance the core competitive ability. The key issues of Integrated Management of Product Structure and Development Process (IM-PSDP) in Concurrent Engineering is investigated in this paper, and several research works is done for this problem as follows:1. Based on the conclusion of the current research status, the research frame of IM-PSDP is put forward. In the frame, Design Structure Matrix is the tool to build up the models of product structure and development process. The product structure topology tree is defined, and the product structure DSM model is introduced. The formalized description about development process model is presented. The characteristics of the tools to build up development process are analyzed, the strongpoint of DSM is discussed, and the development process model based on DSM is introduced. The relation between product structure and development process is analyzed. The integration mechanism between them is founded. The IM-PDSP model is set up.2. After discussing the significance of the research about concurrent development process oriented clustering of product structure model, the method to build up the product structure DSM model is developed. Four-point scale is improved to numeralize DSM model. The means of clustering product structure DSM model based on Row-Column Transform are developed. Evaluation and selection algorithms of clustering result are developed based on quantity of relation information. Genetic Algorithms is used to cluster product structure DSM model, and the intelligentized model of clustering product structure is realized.3. After defining Process BOM, the mapping algorithm from product structure DSM model to development process BOM model is developed. Based on process BOM model, the mapping algorithm from development process BOM model to development process DSM model is realized. In existing development process model, Concurrecy Degree is used to describe the overlapp degree between tasks, and C-DSM model is introduceed to describe the order of tasks and the relations between tasks. By task sequence decomposing, sequential queues can be got. The task-development node matching matrix is used to describe the corresponding relation between tasks and development nodes. Based on Genetic Algorithms, task Intelligent Assignment in Concurrent Development is realized.4. Under the Resource Constrained environment, the research on Planning for order and time of tasks in multi-projects concurrent development is carried out, and the intelligentized method is developed. Iteration and scheduling for coupling tasks set in concurrent product development process is analyzed, and Gaussian elimination combined with Genetic Algorithms is used to realize intelligentized method of it. Taking account of the rework resulting from overlapping and time spend resulting from parallel communication, the model of overlapping coupling two-tasks in product development process is built up. Using the model, some features of product process are analyzed.5. Implement background, architecture, engineering realization, and application infect of Nanjing Feiyan PLM enterprise solution is presented. Based on theories from chapter 3, chapter 4 and chapter 5, and application prototype from the real requirement of product development project management from Wuxi holset, IM-PSDP system is designed and developed. Its preparatory application effect is analyzed.
