Nowadays, paper-pulp is comprehensively used in packaging engineering as environmental friendly cushion materials. Research on cushion characters and package reliability on structural package is of theoretical significance and of value for engineering application. This paper mainly discussed the relationship between the structure parameter and cushion performance of paper-pulp by application of simulation analysis and experimentations from the fellowing aspects:1. The mechanical property parameter of paper-pulp was tested. The digital image correlation method (DICM) was used to measure the mean value of Young's modulus and Poisson's ration and the static compression experiment was used to measure the carrying capacity and elastic coefficient of the paper-pulp and then the accurate mechanics parameter was obtained.2. The intricate cushion package-structure was analysed and three typical unit structures were brought out: block, bucket and step. With the static compression experiment, the CAE software-ANSYS was used to simulate the cushion performance of the units, and gain the limit load-deformation curves with different sizes. The analyses describe the loading ability of the unit and transform the typical structure unit and the conclousion was arrived at that when the flexible extreme limit was smaller than 80% of maximum load, the cushion structural unit will be deformed in flexibility, and, meanwhile, the structure unit has better flexibility. Furthermore a comparisoin was made between cushion performance of the three typical units and a suggestion is put forward to the static buffer design.3. The ANSYS/LS_DYNA software was used to simulate the dynamic shock test of the three typical models and the Acceleration-time curve was obtained. Through analyses of the static loads-maximum acceleration, the response curve for shock load of each structure unit was explicated. By comparing the static cushion performances of several typical structural units, the circumstances in which the typical structure can be used were brought out. 4. Through static compression test and dynamic shock simulation, the research studied the influence of structural parameters (thickness, draft angle, cushion height and the side length of the structure) on the cushion performances of typical units of the block, the bucket and the step. The study suggests that with the draft angles change from 5 to 7 degree, the ratio between cushion height and the radius or perimeter is suitable, and then the structure units get a favorable cushion capability, and cushion performance is inverse with side length.5. With the orthogonal test design method, the analysed the influence of combined factors on the cushion performances of system structures under the circumstance that the typical structural parameters Of overlapped. The research considered the robust of the cushion system under the influence of several factors.6. Through simulating and testing, the cushion relationship has been studied between the combined structures units and typical structure units. Then the conclusion was arrived at that the maximum carrying capacity of the combined paper-pulp with n structures is n times more than the single unit. To some degree, the theory which extracts from the simulation can be used in real design as a simple cushion structure design method.7. The reliability model of buffer package was built and then probability analysis was done with ANSYS software module-PDS to define the probabilistic relationship between the maximum strain and random distribute parameter; Based on the mechanic property of paper-pulp model in logistics package, the calculation methods of reliability quota for buffer package structures suitably was discussed.The moderate dynamic reliability model of cushion package has been built, which will provide theoretical guidance for further development in buffer package reliability design...
