With the development of economy and construction of western regions, many high-grade highway constructing projects have been carried out. Since geological conditions in these regions are very complex and folds and fault structures are widely distributed, to deal with heavily weathered rock slopes is the key technology for constructing high grade roads.In terms of the locations of the potential dangerous slip surface, the failure of rock slope can be classified as shallow slide and deep slide. Usually, in a certain slope project, the two failure patterns are coexistent and cause-and-effect. Therefore, reinforcement measure should be taken according to the actual conditions. Based on the speedway construction project in Guizhou province, this paper studies new material and technology used for slope treatment, the main contents are as follows:(1) A new grouting material is developed to strengthen the anchoring capability of prestressed anchors. Mixing mortar and fibers in certain proportions; the holding capacity of the mixtures are performed both in the laboratory and in field to find the optimum proportion of fibers and mortar.(2) Comparing fibre cement mortar with general grouting materials, the results indicate that fibre cement mortar possesses higher intensity, and can be bonded with the borehole wall, which can prevent the anchorage from cracking and improve its bearing capacity. The engineering properties of fiber cement mortar are better than general mortars.(3) Study the anchoring effect and endurable capability of polypropylene fibre reinforced cement. An elasto-plastic finite element program has been applied to analyses the load-carrying and deformation behaviors on the anchored rope of extensional force type. Accordingly, the load transfer mechanism of fibre cement mortar under the prestressed force is analyzed, which provides theoretical evidence for reducing the failure proportions of the anchor.(4) By studying grouting material, a large amount of laboratory tests have been performed with common cement grouting material; the aim is to analysis their capability and applicability.(5) The principle of Applying grouting method to strengthen slope stability is researched. Theoretical analysis and finite element program have been applied to study the slope failure behavior before and after grouting.(6) Relying on practical projects, fibre cement mortar and grouting reinforcement are used to improve the stability of slopes of highways. The results of monitoring data and finite element program indicate the feasibility of the achievements, which will play an important role for the applications of fibre cement mortar and grouting reinforcement.
