In recent years, with the construction of huge hydraulic engineering in western areas, stability analysis and reinforcement method research is becoming more important. Pre-stressed cables, especially for large tonnage cables is widely applied in engineering program, and also the new developed cables with different types show its good effect and advantage gradually. Various theories in pre-stressed cables can be summarized: (1) theory of load transfer mechanism (2) anchoring mechanism of reinforcement effect. At present, although some achievements, it's still not mature in theory of load transfer mechanism because of complexity of engineering. It's a significant task in practice to make further study on the theory of load transfer mechanism to know the cables character well in order to provide the theoretical principle of anchoring design.Based on the theory of elasticity mechanics and some hypothesis, research of distribution of the stress in anchorage segment of different types of cables is discussed. The model based on uplift effect and model based on Mindlin's solution of displacement are applied to analyze the distribution of the stress of wholly grouted anchor, and the comparison is discussed. The distribution of the stress derived from Boussinesq-Galerkin differential equations of equilibrium is compared with the results from the Mohr-Coulomb strength criterion. Because of complexity of the derived distribution of the stress, the shorten results is suggested.Field test analysis of pre-stressed anchor cable on the high rock slope of Jinping I hydropower station is discussed, and some useful conclusions are summarized comparing with the theoretic results. Combing with the monitoring data, analysis of the factors affecting pre-stress-losing is discussed. On the proper plane model, simulation of prestressed cables by using the numerical simulation software ANSYS to verify the theoretical analysis and the field test.Based on a exit water mouth of Jinping I hydropower station, using limit equilibrium method SARMA, slope stability analysis and evaluation of reinforcement effect of pre-stressed cables are generalized. Otherwise, the sensitivity of main influence factors about rock slope is researched in this paper. At last, the optimum length of anchorage segment and directional angle is analyzed.
