| The present paper dealt with systematic study on Hypeninae of Noctuidae, Lepidoptera from Southwest China (mainly from Yunnan, Guizhou and Xizang Province).The paper comprises three parts. In Partâ… . introduction, the taxonomic history and currant situation of studies, characteristics, biology and ecological habits were reviewed, and meanwhile, the materials and methods of study were also briefly introduced. In Partâ…¡. systematics,10 genera and 66 species of the subfamily Hepeninae were identified totally, including 1 newly recorded genera from China, Ruttenstorferia Lodl,2003; 1 new subgenus, Baoshanypena subgen. n.; 24 new species, Rhynchina simaoensiss,R. substriga,R. subedii,R. lijiangensis,R. benzilanensis,Dichromia subthermesialis,Zekelita martinlodli,Ruttenstorferia subbipartita,Naarda lancangensis,N. mojiangensis,N. jiangchengensis,Harita subbelinda,Hypena bannaensis,H. subprionodes,H. mayerli,H. subabducalis,H. subnigrobasalis,H. subiconicalis,H. subsimilata,H. longbanda,H. hlhani,H. guanlingensis,H. baoshana and H. motuoensis; 2 new subspecies, Rhynchina rivuligera wanlongensiså’ŒLophomilia takao guizhoua; and 7 new record species from China, Zekelita plusioides (Butler,1879),Naarda kinabaluensis Holloway,2008,Hypena cidarioides Moore, 1882,H. vestita (Moore, [1885] 1884-1887),H. caeruleanotata Holloway,2008,H. abjectalis Walker, [1859] 1858 and H. phecomalis Swinhoe,1905; 5 generia names were firstly used in China with Chinese names.
