Foping Nature Reserve lies in the south slope of Qinling Mountain in Shaanxi province, between 107°40'~107°55'E and 33°33'~33°46'N. The climate is warm and plenty of rain, so the bryophytes are abundance. Foping lies in the transition zone between Central China region and North China region of the bryophytes regionalization in China, and the investigation in detail and research to species diversity on bryophytes haven't been done in Foping. Through the research, the bryophytes species composition in Foping Nature Reserve will be known, which can supply basic information for bryophytes research in China, and the research on species diversity will offer theory for the bryophytes diversity conservation in Foping. The paper includes two parts, one is the research to species diversity and the other is ecosystem diversity of bryophytes in Foping Nature Reserve. The first part is the bryoflora research in Foping Nature Reserve. Through the two times investigation and studied, the results were as followed:1. Based on two times' investigation, 5054 specimen at the area were collected. A total of 364 moss species (including subspecies and varieties) in 129 genera of 37 families and 111 liverwort species in 34 genera of 25 families were identified. Among them, 135 species including 72 mosses and 63 liverworts are new recorded in Shannxi. The relatively high number of bryophytes species were founded at the elevation of 1400-1450m and 1900~2000m.2. In the dissertation, the geographical elements of bryophytes in Foping Nature Reserve were studied, and were found that the main characteristics of the bryoflora of Foping were abundance on species, high level endemism, dominance of East- Asia elements, as well as temperate elements, and considerable tropical element. First, there are the highest abundance in Foping between the 8 areas, and with 58 species endemic to China occupying 12.66 %, and with 6 genera endemic to East-Asian; Secondly, as to geographical elements, East-Asian elements were dominance (39.52% of the total elements), mostly including Sino-Japan element; and temperate elements were lower, mostly including North Temperate element; and tropical elements take a...
