| Objective:This research evaluates the clinical effectiveness and security of Huatan Sanyu Formula for those with benign thyroid nodules accompanied by phlegm and blood stasis syndrome,thereby furnishing a scientific basis for its utilization and a novel approach to the prevention and treatment of thyroid nodules through traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:In this study,70 patients with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome of thyroid nodule meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group,with 35 patients in each group.Both groups were provided with lifestyle intervention as a fundamental form of treatment.The experimental group was given Huatan Sanyu Formula orally,while the control group was given basic treatment and regular follow-up.For three months,both groups underwent treatment.The general state of affairs,TCM syndrome ratings,the maximum diameter of the nodule,ultrasonic risk factor ratings,and safety index of the patients before and after the treatment were documented.Statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS25.0 software.Results:1.Comparison of general data: No noteworthy disparities in gender,age,progression of the illness,thyroid function and antibodies were observed between the two groups prior to the treatment(P>0.05).2.Comparison of curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine(1)Comparison of TCM syndrome scores: TCM syndrome scores of intragroup comparison of the experimental group and control group revealed a decrease before and after treatment(P<0.05),with a significant difference between the post-treatment of the two groups(P<0.01).(2)Comparison of TCM clinical efficacy: The total effective rates of TCM clinical efficacy of experimental group and control group after treatment were 88.57% and 37.14%,respectively,and the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01).(3)Comparison of the efficacy of single symptom of TCM: The main symptoms of both groups were improved before and after treatment;the experimental group’s ratios of disappearance and effectiveness were significantly superior to the control group’s,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3.Comparison of ultrasonic efficacy of thyroid nodules(1)Comparison of maximum diameter of the nodule: there were statistically significant differences between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05),and the experimental group demonstrating a significantly superior effect of reducing thyroid nodule diameter compared to the control group(P<0.01).(2)Comparison of the efficacy of maximum diameter of nodule reduction: After treatment,the total effective rate of maximum diameter of nodule reduction in the experimental group and the control group was 34.29% and 5.71% respectively,and the former was significantly better than the latter(P<0.01).(3)Comparison of risk factor scores of nodule ultrasound: The risk factor scores of the experimental group were significantly decreased before and after treatment(P<0.01);no significant difference was seen in the control group before and after treatment(P>0.05),nor between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05).4.Safety indicators and adverse reactions: No abnormal safety indices were discovered in either group,nor any adverse reactions during the treatment.Conclusion:Huatan Sanyu Formula has been demonstrated to have a noteworthy curative effect on the treatment of benign thyroid nodules with phlegm and blood stasis syndrome,which can effectively ameliorate the clinical symptoms of patients and diminish the size of thyroid nodules,with excellent safety and merit for clinical utilization. |
