Since the reform and opening up,China's exchanges with other countries in the world have gradually increased,welcoming development opportunities,but the security issues behind development can not be ignored.At present,the state attaches great importance to national security education in universities,middle schools and primary schools,and the Ministry of Education encourages national security education to enter the campus,teaching materials and various disciplines.However,after investigation,it is found that the cultivation of national security awareness in high school geography teaching at this stage is not ideal.Therefore,senior high school geography teachers should establish the concept of cultivating students' national security awareness,and dig deep into the national security education content contained in senior high school geography curriculum to cultivate students' national security awareness,help students to understand national security issues from the perspective of geography,and enhance their awareness of protecting national security.The purpose of this study is to explore how to cultivate students' national security awareness in high school geography teaching.Firstly,based on overall national security concept,social learning theory,sustainable development theory and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,this paper expounds the research background,research purpose,significance and research status at home and abroad through literature research,and defines the concepts of national security and national security awareness.By inductive analysis,this paper digs out the content of national security awareness cultivation in geography curriculum standards and geography textbooks of Hunan Education Press,and summarizes and analyzes the breakthrough point of national security awareness infiltration in geography curriculum.Then,the questionnaire survey is used to investigate and analyze the cultivation of national security awareness in high school geography teaching,and it is concluded that there are some problems in the cultivation of national security awareness in high school geography teaching,such as insufficient national security knowledge reserve of some teachers,insufficient attention paid by some teachers,insufficient development and accumulation of related teaching resources,insufficient penetration in the teaching process,single way to evaluate students' national security awareness,low attention paid by schools.This paper analyzes the causes of above-mentioned problems,and puts forward that the cultivation of national security awareness should follow the principles of continuity,moderation and integration.In geography teaching of senior high school,eight strategies should be adopted to cultivate students' national security awareness,such as increasing teachers' relevant knowledge reserves,enhancing teachers' national security awareness,digging deeply into relevant teaching resources,refining the combination points of teaching objectives,increasing the interest of teaching methods,promoting the diversification of teaching evaluation methods,continuously increasing the attention of schools and organizing extracurricular activities with distinctive themes.Finally,based on the principles and strategies of cultivating national security awareness,the teaching design of "Petroleum Resources and National Security" is taken as an example to provide reference for teachers to cultivate students' national security awareness in high school geography teaching.
