Clinical Observation Of Strengthening Spleen And Promoting Intelligence Acupuncture Method In Treating Mild Cognitive Impairment

Objective:Through observing the clinical efficacy of the strengthening spleen and promoting intelligence acupuncture method in the treatment of mild cognitive impairment,the aim of this study is to explore the theoretical basis of the acupuncture treatment and to provide a new thought and method for the clinical treatment of this kind of disease.Methods:A total of 60 patients with mild cognitive impairment who met the criteria were selected and divided into 2 groups according to the method of random number table,each with 30 cases.The treatment group was given the acupuncture method of strengthening spleen and promoting intelligence.And the control group was simply used the ordinary acupuncture.The acupuncture frequency was once per day and 6 times per week.Meanwhile both groups received basic treatment and health education.After 4 weeks of treatment,all the scores of the Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE),Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)and Activity of Daily Living(ADL)before and after the therapy were analyzed and compared.The therapeutic effect of the two groups on mild cognitive impairment was evaluated by scale score.Results:1.After 4 weeks of treatment,the total scores of MMSE and the scores of each dimension were both significantly higher than before,and there were significant differences(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the improvement degree of total scores,memory,recall,attention and numeracy in the treatment group was more obvious,and there were significant differences(P<0.05).2.After 4 weeks of treatment,the total scores of MoCA and the scores of each dimension were both significantly higher than before,and there were significant differences(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the improvement degree of total scores,visuospatial ability,attention and delayed recall in the treatment group was more obvious,and there were significant differences(P<0.05).3.After 4 weeks of treatment,the total scores of ADL were both significantly improved than before,which showed a significant comparison in both before and after therapy(P<0.05).While there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).4.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 83.33%and the control group was 66.67%.There were significant differences in the two groups and it is inferred that the curative effect of the treatment group was better than the control one(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Both of the therapies can effectively improve cognitive ability and daily living ability in patients with mild cognitive impairment.2.Compared with ordinary acupuncture,the curative effect of strengthening spleen and promoting intelligence acupuncture method is more significant in improving memory,delayed recall,attention and numeracy,visuospatial ability in patients with mild cognitive impairment.3.The treatment effect of both of the therapies are equivalent in improving the ability of daily living in patients with mild cognitive impairment.
