| Objective: Based on the overall level and specific conditions of study engagement and professional identify of nursing undergraduates in a medical school,this research deeply analyzes the influence path of the academic and vocational environment on their study engagement and professional identify,and focus on the effect of professional identify in the above process;Based on the individualized difference of study engagement and professional identify,propose targeted countermeasures and suggestions to increase their study engagement,aiming to improve the level of study engagement of nursing undergraduates and improve the quality of nursing education of the medical school,thereby improving the overall quality of the nursing team and the level of nursing service.Methods: Use the literature research method to summarize the current situation and influencing factors of study engagement and professional identify of domestic and foreign college students,determine the research framework,screen and revise the study engagement and professional identify scales;through the questionnaire survey method understand the study engagement in a medical university;use SPSS 26.0 for statistical analysis.use percentages,mean and standard deviation to describe the scores of study engagement and professional identify;T test and one-way analysis of variance were used for difference analysis,test level α=0.05;use AMOS 23.0 statistical software to test the reliability and validity of the professional identify and study engagement questionnaires,and construct a structural equation model to analyze the path and to test the mediation effect between colleges and professional environments,professional identify and study engagement.Results:1.The evaluation of academic and vocational environment of nursing undergraduatesIn the evaluation of academic environment,nursing undergraduates have the lowest degree of satisfaction with the college’s activities in related fields(4.16±0.75);the college providing employment guidance and assistance,school teaching facilities and equipment,and the college’s learning atmosphere were lower,with satisfaction scores of 4.19±0.71,4.19±0.73,and 4.21±0.76 respectively;in the vocational environment evaluation,nursing undergraduates have the lowest evaluation of the social status of nurses,with a score of 2.84±0.80;the evaluation of the income of nurses is2.88±0.73.2.The status quo and influencing factors of professional identify of nursing undergraduatesThe average score of professional identify of nursing undergraduates was3.94±0.58,and the average dimension scores of professional cognition,professional emotion,professional behavior tendency,and professional fitness were respectively3.94±0.62,3.88±0.72,4.09±0.61,3.85±0.71.3.The status quo and influencing factors of study engagement of nursing undergraduatesThe average score of study engagement of nursing undergraduates was 3.17±0.69,and the average dimension scores of cognition,behavioral,and emotional engagement were respectively 3.15±0.82,2.89±0.74,3.51±0.80.The scores of study engagement of nursing undergraduates were statistically significant in grade,personality,whether to serve as a student cadre.The LSD results showed that there were statistically significant between “juniors and seniors” and“freshmen and sophomores”,between extroverted personality and intermediate,introverted personality.4.The results of the mediation effect of the model of influence factors in study engagementThere are 11 influencing paths of study engagement.Professional cognition and professional fitness have direct influence on study engagement,with path coefficients of2.55 and 3.46 respectively.There are 7 paths for academic environmental affecting study engagement.the total effect of the academic environment on study engagement is3.74;The total effect of the academic environment affecting study engagement through professional cognition accounted for 77.80%.The mediating effect of Path 1 "academic environment → professional cognition → study engagement" is 1.40,accounting for37.38%;the mediating effect of path 2 "academic environment → professional cognition → professional emotion → professional fitness → study engagement” is 0.73,accounting for 19.49%.Among the other paths,the total effect academic environment affecting study engagement through professional emotions accounts for 8.95%.there are two paths for vocational environment affecting study engagement and the total effect of vocational environment influencing study engagement is 0.57;the mediating effect of path 8 “vocational environment → professional emotion → professional fitness →study engagement ” is 0.46,accounting for 81.26%.Multi-group analysis showed that the structural model differences between grades and personalities were statistically significant.Pair comparison results show that there is a statistically significant difference between freshmen and seniors in the path of "occupational environment evaluation → professional emotion";between Introverted and extrovert on path "professional cognition and study engagement"(| T | > 1.96).ConclusionThe overall professional identity of nursing undergraduates is at the upper-middle level.Among them,professional behavior tends to be the highest,reflecting that they have a good sense of learning;professional cognition is at the upper-middle level,reflecting that they have a certain understanding of professional learning and career development;professional emotions are lower,reflecting they have no strong professional pride;professional fitness is the lowest,reflecting lower sense of matching between personal and profession in the learning process.The overall study engagement of nursing undergraduates is at a medium level.Among them,the emotional engagement is the highest and the behavioral engagement is the lowest.Although the nursing undergraduates have the enthusiasm for learning,they have not devoted themselves to study.Grade and personality influence the study engagement of nursing undergraduates.The study engagement of juniors and seniors is higher than that of freshmen and sophomores;The study engagement of extroverted students are higher than that of intermediate and introverted students.Moreover,professional cognition has a higher effect on the learning engagement of extroverted nursing students.Professional cognition and professional fitness have direct influence on study engagement,while college and occupational environment evaluation have indirect influence on learning engagement.Compared with the vocational environment,the academic environment has a higher impact on study engagement.The academic environment mainly affects study engagement through two paths,one is through the mediation of professional cognition,and the other is through chain mediation of“professional cognition→professional emotion→professional fitness”.Professional cognition has negative influence on study engagement of introverted nursing students.;the vocational environment is mainly through chain mediation of “professional cognition → professional emotion → professional fitness”.Vocational environmental assessment has a great influence on the professional emotion of nursing undergraduates in lower grades.Through broadening the way of professional understanding in and out of class for strengthening professional cognition;strengthening professional exchanges between teachers,students and students for promoting professional emotion;expanding extracurricular competitions and practical activities to promoting professional learning;improving the teaching environment of theory and experiment courses for stimulating the interest in study,promote professional identify of nursing undergraduates so as to boosting the quantity and quality of study engagement. |
