Objective: With the changes of medical model and strengthen of self-protection awareness of people, how to create a large number of reserve force in nursing with theoretical knowledge, excellent clinical skills and willing of selfless dedication, has become an important issue to be resolved for nursing educators. In this topic, we conduct a survey for undergraduate students'professional values of Jilin Province to find out the status of nursing professional values of undergraduate students in Jilin Province, build the structure model of nursing professional values of nursing students, analyze the influence factors of nursing professional values and explore the suitable professional values education for undergraduate nursing student, in order to provide support for the relevant teaching.Methods:(1)Investigation method: take out samples of five nursing undergraduate school of Jilin Province, beginning from November in 2008 to September in 2009. Requirements of the investigation object expressed their understanding and supportive of the research, voluntary participation; questionnaire can correctly understand the meaning of each entry. 1550 copies of the questionnaires were distributed, 1495 valid questionnaires were received.(2)The design and selection of the questionnaireThe questionnaire include two parts, one is the general assessment survey forms, including schools, sex, age, ethnicity, native place, the political landscape, grade, blood type, whether for one child, personality characteristics, parental education, parental occupation, family income monthly per capita, professional attitude, and so on; the other is Super work values inventory translated to Chinese by self which contains 45 topics and 15 dimensionality. We weight the topics with 5 likert scale, so 5 means very important, 4 means Important,3 means Moderately Important, 2 means of little Important and 1 means Unimportant. The highest Score of every dimensionality is 15 points, and according the scores, we selected five dimensionalities as the most important professional values.(3)Pre-surveyBefore survey, we selected 40 cases of A school to do complete the questionnaire in order to test the reliability and validity of questionnaire. This study measured Cronbach' Alpha of the various dimensionalities of professional values and reached 0.917; measured split-half reliability coefficient (Spearman-Brown) which is 0.914. In general, professional values questionnaire of nursing undergraduate has good reliability.(4)StatisticsWe used of statistical analysis software SPSS13.0 to do its descriptive analysis, , used mean±standard deviation to descript the measurement data, used t tests to compare the data of two groups, used ANOVA to compare the data of multiple groups, and then used Multiple stepwise regression to analyze influencing factors. P <0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.ResultsFor nursing students, the scores of various dimensionalities of professional values was as follows: the highest score is the Associates (13.43±1.71), the lowest scores is Variety (11.02±2.07). Sorting the professional values of nursing students based on scores, it is concluded that the five most important dimensions of professional values of nursing students of are: Associates, Economic return, Way of life, Surroundings and supervisory relationship; the least attention to the five dimensionalities are: Variety, aesthetics, Management, Creativity and Security.ConclusionThe characteristics of nursing professional values of undergraduate students: pay attention to material and human relations, not to the nature of work aesthetic.Suggestions:(1)Enhance professional capabilities as well as train professional qualities(2)Establish the professional attitude in order to cultivate correct nursing professional values of nursing students(3)Enhance the education of nursing professional values of undergraduate in the course of clinical practice(4)Enhance the career guidance(5)Promote students to participate in more social activities...
