Effect Of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine Therapy On Blood Stasis And Phlegm Coagulation Syndrome Of Chronic Hoarseness

ObjectiveThe study is to observe the changes of laryngeal symptoms and signs of patients with chronic hoarseness of blood stasis and phlegm coagulation syndrome and explore the clinical efficacy and safety of integrated Chinese medicine therapy.The VHI-10 scale and voice acoustic analysis parameters were used to measure the quality of life and voice changes of patients.Methods57 patients with chronic hoarseness of blood stasis and phlegm coagulation syndrome were enrolled in this study.According to the principle of non-randomized controlled trial,patients were divided into three groups,one treatment group of 19 patients and two control groups of 18 patients and 20 patients respectively.The treatment group was treated with Er Chen Decoction combined with Hui Yan Zhu Yu Decoction and Dan Shen audio frequency therapy and Hou Ning aerosol inhalation.The control group 1 was with Er Chen Decoction combined with Hui Yan Zhu Yu Decoction and Hou Ning aerosol inhalation.The control group 2 was only with Er Chen Decoction combined with Hui Yan Zhu Yu Decoction.All patients would be treated for 28 days.Before and after treatment,all patients needed to receive laryngoscope and computer voice analysis,fill in the VHI-10 scale as well as record the symptoms and signs.The statistical analysis of the study was performed with the SPSS 18.0 software and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.ResultsThere were no statistically significant differences in age,sex,course of disease and symptoms and signs among the three groups before treatment,which were comparable.1.By comparing the changes of symptom and sign scores between the three groups before and after treatment,the results showed that the total effective rate of the three groups by chi-square test showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05),but the marked effective rate and recovery rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the other two groups.2.Comparison of the groups before and after treatment:The control group 2 had no significant improvement in relieving symptoms of throat pain(P>0.05).The treatment group and the control group 1 could effectively improve the symptoms of throat pain(P<0.05).3.Comparison between groups before and after treatment:The treatment in each group can improve symptoms,physical scores,VHI-10 scores and voice analysis parameters.The treatment group and control group 1 can significantly improve the symptoms of throat pain and the treatment group can improve the habit of clearing voice as well.ConclusionThe clinical efficacy of integrated traditional Chinese medicine therapy on chronic hoarseness with blood stasis and phlegm coagulation syndrome was outstanding and safe.
