| Among all the food crops in the world,rice accounts for 1/4 of the total.With the global population surge and the planting area decreasing,how to increase rice yield is a common concern of all agricultural researchers.As a large agricultural grain producing country and a rice growing country,rice research is of great significance for China’s grain production and food security.Through quantitative analysis of rice research output,it can also reveal the international research level of Chinese rice research institutions.Through summarizing a large number of documents,this paper finds that domestic and foreign scholars have a lot of research results in the field of literature in the agricultural field,thus perfecting and enriching the theoretical knowledge about the literature measurement in the agricultural field.However,the existing research mainly focuses on one aspect of a certain crop theme,and rarely conducts a full-scale quantitative analysis of a crop theme,and when conducting bibliometric analysis,it mainly adopts a literature form(journal paper),so This paper conducts quantitative analysis from the perspective of studying the journal articles and invention patents of rice,as follows.For the quantitative analysis of journal articles,the international and domestic rice related research papers were collected from 1988 to 2017.The data of international journal papers were from WoS database,and the data of domestic journal papers were from CNKI database.The main analysis was the number of research papers.Three aspects of age distribution,high-yield institutions and research hotspots,in the process of data analysis,the processing program is written in Python language,and also through the visualization software such as Gephi and Ucinet;in patent analysis,this paper only studies CNKI-based.The Chinese invention patent in the patent database specifically analyzes the patent application quantity,the age distribution,the geographical distribution of the applicant and the applicant,and the research hotspot distribution.In the measurement analysis,the Gephi visualization software,the Derwent patent database and the DDA patent statistical software are used.Intuitively display and analyze the frontier areas of rice-related research,and draw the following conclusions based on statistical results.(1)Results of quantitative analysis of journal articles.The number of international journal papers has spiraled upwards,and the number of domestic journal papers showed an overall increase,decline,re-rising and decreasing M-type fluctuation trend;The statistics of high-yielding organizations have found that there are 7 research institutions in China in the early 21st century,It ranks among the top 20 core research institutions,accounting for one-third of the total,and the trend of international and domestic high-yield organizations on common publishing is more and more common.Due to the different data sources of the papers,the international and domestic rice are related through the LDA topic clustering model.The research papers carried out cluster analysis and found that the research on rice transgenic breeding and growth conditions is the research focus of agricultural institutions and workers at home and abroad.(2)The results of the measurement and analysis of invention patents.The number of applications for invention patents can be divided into:the germination period(1988-2004),the steady development period(2005-2012)and the rapid growth period(2013-2017);analysis of patent applicants for rice crops,It is obvious that the research and development main body is concentrated in agricultural research institutes and agricultural colleges.On the contrary,the research and development strength of agricultural science and technology enterprises is very weak.The research topic of invention patents found that domestic rice invention patents focus on hybrid rice breeding,cultivation techniques and genetically modified varieties. |
