An Lezhe Confucian Role Ethics Research

Roger.T.Ames is an important sinologist and philosopher who exchanges and spreads Chinese and Western cultures.His understanding and grasp of Confucian culture has its own unique features.He interprets Confucianism as Confucian role ethics in the context of "more than one".This paper takes Roger.T.Ames newly published "Confucian role ethics-a set of characteristic ethics vocabulary" as the core,and combs the problem consciousness,research methods and connotation and significance of Confucian role ethics in the study of Confucian culture.In the first part of the thesis,the focus of Roger.T.Ame's problem consciousness is to review the general situation of the translation of missionaries and sinologists;the Westerners understand the obstacles of Chinese traditional culture and the world significance of Confucian culture.The second part of the thesis focuses on the research methods of Roger.T.Ames from three aspects: the word channel,the comparative interpretation of Chinese and Western culture,and the classification of Confucian role ethics.The third part of this thesis focuses on the connotation and significance of Confucian ethics,and discusses its similarities and differences with Western moral ethics and utilitarian ethics;natural cosmology,ethical social politics in the context of Confucian role ethics,Three aspects of international relations;and the significance and value of Confucian role ethics.From the above,we can initially explore the historical position of Roger.T.Ames in the cultural exchanges between China and the West.At the same time,we can also understand the unique expression paradigm of Confucian culture going to the world in the new era and "speaking the Chinese story well".
