Classic of Family Reverence is the most concentrated and perfect ethical code of the Confucianism in China to elaborate “family reverence”.It theoretically and systematically transforms the family reverence ideology and has played a important role in regulating social order and ethical relations since ancient times.Along with China's international influence expands,more and more foreigners are interested in Chinese culture.Therefore,the Confucian classics like the Classic of Family Reverence have been translated into others languages.The Mediology study of Classic of Family Reverence is beneficial to make people in the world understand the true family reverence of China.Roger T.Ames is a leader in the Chinese and Western Comparative Philosophy,he has contributed to find the location of Confucian culture in world culture.The translation of Classic of Family Reverence translated by Roger T.Ames and Henry Rosemont,Jr lays great emphasis on its philosophy.This translation is aim to correct the errors and misunderstanding about Confucianism,they hope to find ways in Confucianism,which can help them to solve Western society even global society issues.The dissertation's study object is English translation of Classic of Family Reverence translated by Henry Rosemont,Jr & Roger T.Ames.Mainly through the study of the characteristics and thoughts of their translations,it was discussed how the Confucian classics like Classic of Family Reverence could be better disseminate to the world.The first section of dissertation is sorted out the overseas transmission and translation of Classic of Family Reverence,and analyzed the characteristics of the previous English translations.According to the different translator groups,two characteristics about previous English versions were found.One is explained Confucianism in Christian Language,another is payed more attention to translation fluency.Section two is compared with the translation of Legge James,and analyzed the characteristics of Henry Rosemont,Jr & Roger T.Ames' from the perspectives of study,the method of translation and style arrangement.In section it is analyzed that their study on the Confucian political model,Confucian ethics and Confucian religious characteristics and evaluated the Confucian Role Ethics.Section four,Firstly,itsummarizes the overall characteristics of the existing English translation of Classic of Family Reverence.Focusing on the characteristics of Henry Rosemont,Jr & Roger T.Ames'.It summarizes the methods and experiences used in Henry Rosemont,Jr &Roger T.Ames'.It is hoped that this will bring inspiration to the translation of Confucian classics,and Chinese culture can go out better.
