Best-seller lists first appeared in the United States,the best-seller list published in China Book Review around 1994 is the earliest best-seller list in China.With the development of best-seller market,best-seller lists have gradually become an important reference for readers to purchase books,publishing houses to publish books and scholars to study bestsellers.With the development of nationwide reading activities and the implementation of relevant policies to encourage the development of bookstores,China's best-seller market has developed rapidly in recent years.The release of best-seller lists on DangDang,Amazon,OpenBook and other platforms also affects the public's choice of reading books.To some extent,bestsellers reflect the characteristics of social popular culture and the changing characteristics of The Times,reflecting the topic of public concern.Non-fiction bestsellers focus on the characteristics of real life that make them more representative of The Times.Based on the 1999-2017 OpenBook TOP30 non-fiction bestsellers as the research objects,from non-fiction bestsellers,the authors and the publishing houses of the bestsellers,using literature analysis,survey research,quantitative study and comparative analysis,deductive induction method,combining the theory of Maslow's hierarchy of needs,the use and satisfy the audience behavior theory in the search for the non-fiction bestsellers' characteristics,the factors influencing on the list,and the non-fiction bestsellers to predict the future trend and judgment.Based on the analysis of the lists of non-fiction bestsellers in the past two decades,the author concludes that the factors influencing the list of non-fiction bestsellers mainly include the following aspects: sales channel influences the sales volume and market segments of non-fiction bestsellers;social hot spots and TV programs have spawned "short life cycle" non-fiction bestsellers;popular demand and psychological influence on the characteristics of nonfiction bestsellers;the author's ability and the strength of the publishing organization influence the length of non-fiction bestsellers on the list.Although there are many irrational factors in the bestsellers market,some potential laws can still be found according to the characteristics of the list and its influencing factors,for examples,new hot spots boost the diversification of market segments;Celebrity Effect and Herd Effect will exist fora long time;the personal brand effect of listed authors was further enhanced;rational introduction of non-fiction bestsellers,increasing the influence of local theme publishing;publishing agency's Matthew Effect will intensify and so on.
