In the past few decades,wireless data rates have doubled every 18 months to satisfy the rapid growth of data traffic.In accordance with this trend,it has been expected that data rates of dozens Gbps are needed in the near future,while existing wireless communication technologies is difficult to achieve such high data rate.Terahertz Wireless Personal Area Networks(THz-WPANs)is a kind of short-range ultra-high speed wireless communication network with using terahertz waves as carriers,the data transmission rate can reach 10 Gbps or even higher,and it has advantages of larger communication capacity and strong anti-interference capability.THz-WPANs will play a decisive role in the future short range wireless communication.However,the terahertz wave attenuates severely in the atmosphere,which is limited in the propagation distance.Some scholars have proposed a TAB-MAC protocol,TAB-MAC protocol uses WiFi channel and terahertz channel,interactive control information in the WiFi channel and the TTS frame,ACK frame and data frame transmission in the terahertz channel to solve the problem of distance limitation.Based on TAB-MAC protocol,this paper proposes two kinds of dual-channel MAC protocols named ELDC-MAC protocol and PTDC-MAC protocol.The details are as follows:1.To solve the problems existing in the current TAB-MAC protocol that using TTS frame causes control overhead redundancy,nodes of ovonic data transmission have redundancy in the RTS/CTS frame interaction process,position information redundancy in the RTS/CTS frame interaction process,and 4 bytes useless data field redundancy in the TTS frame,an efficient and low delay dual-channel MAC protocol for THz-WPANs,ELDC-MAC,is proposed.Through the destination regular node sending TTS frames to the source regular node mechanism,adaptively omitting the RTS/CTS frame interaction process mechanism,self-adaption removing regular node location information transmit-receive mechanism and streamlining TTS frame mechanism,these problems can be effectively solved,ELDC-MAC can improve network throughput and reduce the control overhead.2.To address the problems existing in the present dual-channel MAC protocol for THz-WPANs,including source and destination nodes use directional antennas for datatransmission in the terahertz channel,other nodes cannot data transmission in the network,resulting in low space utilization and throughput,when a source node sends an RTS frame to a node that is transmitting data,it causes the source node to retransmit RTS frames,which has redundant control overhead,a parallel transmission dual-channel MAC protocol for THz-WPANs,PTDC-MAC,is proposed.Through multiple nodes parallel transmission mechanism and adaptive suppression of RTS frame retransmission mechanism,PTDC-MAC can improve the network throughput and reduce the data delay.Finally,the thesis summarize the full text and briefly describe the future research directions of the dual-channel MAC protocol for THz-WPANs.
