A terahertz wireless personal area network is a kind of wireless ad hoc networks operating in the terahertz band, and it can overcome the problems of low capacity, long data delay and low reliability of the traditional wireless personal area network to meet people's requirements for wireless communications needs of short distance ultra-high speed, high reliability and low-cost,so terahertz communication technology in recent years has become a research hotspot in various countries. However, due to the severe attenuation in the air and the short transmission distance of terahertz band, which limit the overall performance of the network. The range of communication of a single wireless personal area network is very limited, usually only 10 m,so more and more researches are focused on how to extend the communication range of the network. It is hoped that several wireless personal area networks operating at the same time can be connected to each other for inter-PAN data transmission, and then the node located in overlapping areas serve as bridge. The nodes between different network can communicate by coordinating forwarding data packets through bridge, thereby making the coverage of network is extended. This thesis mainly focuses on the inter-PAN data transmission mechanism, introduces the research background and advantages of terahertz wireless communication technology and the research status of inter-PAN data transmission mechanism and the superframe structure used in typical inter-PAN data transmission mechanism. On this basis, two new inter-PAN data transmission mechanisms of terahertz wireless personal area networks are proposed to mainly solve the problems of timeslot waste and redundancy overhead caused by multiple inter-network nodes in the existing inter-PAN data transmission mechanism, thereby improving the overall network performance. The main work of the thesis includes the following two aspects:Firstly, aiming at the problems existing in the inter-PAN data transmission mechanism, such as the time slot waste caused by the unbalanced traffic distribution, the unclear start timing of the coordinated superframe, and the large control overhead required for the superframe unified mechanism,HTSU-PAN(High Time Slot Utilization-PAN)is proposed.HTSU-PAN can effectively reduce the time required for the network coordination process, increase the utilization of channel timeslots, and improve the network throughput by adopting implicit TDMA timeslots allocation, idle period enabled based on no beacon and Unified superframe based on bridge node.Secondly, aiming at the problems of large overhead of bridge node selection caused by multiple inter-network nodes in the overlapping area and timeslot allocation duplication caused by unclear ownership of inter-network nodes,MINN-PAN(Multiple Inter-Network Nodes-PAN)is proposed.By adopting two new mechanisms includes bridge node selection based on energy-efficient and timeslot allocation of new inter-network nodes,MINN-PAN can effectively solve the collision and overhead problems caused by multiple inter-network nodes thereby reducing data transmission delay and improve network performance. Finally, the thesis summarize the full text and point out the further research direction of inter-PAN data transmission mechanism of terahertz wireless personal area network.
