Research On Rural Gambling Behavior From The Perspective Of Social Deviance

As a social phenomenon,gambling culture has been circulating for thousands of years in the long history.With the deepening of reform and opening up and the acceleration of urbanization,great changes have taken place in the fields of economy,society and culture.People's material life has been significantly improved,but gambling in urban and rural areas is quite common.Especially in rural areas facing the urbanization transformation,the scale of cities and towns is expanding,housing demolition and relocation are spreading rapidly,and land expropriation area is increasing.In this process,a large number of farmers get compensation for house demolition and land expropriation,and live a rich and leisurely life.With the gradual improvement of their living standards,their lifestyles have also undergone great changes.However,the development of rural cultural infrastructure facilities is lagging behind,the number of gamblers is increasing,the sources of gambling are diversified,the pattern of gambling is renovating day by day,and the amount of gambling capital is increasing.The prevalence of gambling not only contributes to the unhealthy social atmosphere of gaining money without pains and opportunism,but also has a negative impact on the personal work and physical and mental health of gamblers,and even brings many negative impacts on family life and family relations.The emotions of long-term participants in gambling activities are often cloudy and sunny affected by win or lose of the gambling.Because of the urgency of winning mentality,or the impulse to get the money back,they often feel anxious and upset.Because gamblers waste a lot of valuable time on the gambling,it will inevitably lead to reduce the time of communication between family members,which not only affect the relationship between husband and wife,but also affect the establishment of a harmonious relationship between parents and children.Serious gamblers may ruin their families and scatter their wives and children,causing great economic pressure on individuals and families.In the long run,it may induce gamblers' speculative and risky psychology and criminal behavior,seriously affecting social stability and development.If the problem of gambling cannot be effectively curbed,it may lead to social contradictions and conflicts,which will not only make some farmers' sustainable livelihood face crisis,but also hinder the further development of new urbanization.This paper takes the new urbanization as the background,and studies the gambling problem of L village in T county,H province from the perspective of social deviance.Starting with the sources of rural gambling capital,the places and characteristics of gambling,this paper analyses the external and internal causes of the prevalence of gambling in L village,as well as the impact of rural gambling from the personal,family and social levels.On this basis,this paper discusses the countermeasures to solve the problem of rural gambling from the aspects of publicizing financial management knowledge,setting a typical benchmark,paying attention to the mental health of gamblers,perfecting laws and regulations,and strengthening public opinions.
