ObjectiveAccording to the survey results,we try to understand the current situation of perceived professional benefits and self-efficacy of nursing students in a top three hospital,and to analyze the influencing factors and correlation between them.These results may provide basis for psychological problems assessment of nursing students during internship,and guide us to take corresponding intervention measures to reduce the loss of nursing talents.MethodsA total of 334 interns were selected as the study subjects in a top three hospital.The research tools were the basic data questionnaire,the General self-efficacy Scale(GSES)of Schwarzer and the vocational benefit scale compiled by Hu Jing.Socio-demographic information were presented as number and percentage.T-test and analysis of variance were used to assess the difference between socio-demographic factors on the perceived professional benefits and self-efficacy.Additionally,multiple regression analysis was further used to explore the influencing factors of occupational benefits.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the association between self-efficacy and the perceived professional benefits.ResultsA total of 334 nursing students were investigated by questionnaires.Three hundred and thirty-four questionnaires were distributed and 332 were collected,of which 317 were valid questionnaires,with an effective questionnaire response rate of 94.9%.1.The survey results of the current situation of perceived professional benefits of internship nursing students:our study showed that the scores of perceived professional benefits of internship nursing students of each dimension from high to low are self growth,positive occupational perception,good nurse patient relationship,team belonging and family and friends' identity.The total score(143.64±15.59)of the perceived professional benefits was at a high level.The top four items were:seeing patients suffering from pain,I value life more;teaching and learning between teachers and students in the teaching work force me to improve;I am very happy to be able to help patients at work;the patient improved/recovered under my care and brought me a sense of accomplishment.The last four items in the ranking were:the nursing profession brought me stable and guaranteed income;nurses have more job opportunities and stable jobs;my career has enabled me to provide convenient medical resources for friends and family;my friends and relatives are very supportive of my work because they benefit from my career.T-test and Anova-anlysis showed significant differences with positive career awareness dimension scores on gender,educational background,family atmosphere,the cause of choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school positions,good nurse-patient relationship dimension scores on gender,educational background,politics status,the cause of choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school positions,relatives and friends identity dimension scores on gender,family atmosphere,the cause of choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school position,the sense of belonging of team dimension scores on gender,educational background,family atmosphere,the cause of choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school position,the self growth dimension scores gender,educational background,family atmosphere,the cause choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school position,occupational benefits total scores on gender,educational background,politics status,family atmosphere,the causes choosing nursing major,whether or not like nursing major,and in-school position.Multiple regression analysis showed significant differences with the perceived professional benefits total scores on gender,family atmosphere,and whether or not like nursing major.2.The results of this study showed that the average score of self-efficacy of nursing student was 2.47±0.54,which was at a middle level,but was relatively low.Self-efficacy scores of nursing students with different personality:except their own personality(P<0.05),age,gender,whether the only child,political landscape,whether the student cadre,family residence,record of formal schooling,parents occupation,parent education,family atmosphere had no statistically difference.3.The survey results of the correlation between perceived professional benefits and self-efficacy of nursing students:they were positively correlated.In the sense of general self-efficacy,the perceived professional benefits of nursing students had a positive effect.The general self-efficacy could play a role in nursing students' practice psychology,and was closely related to the quality of clinical practice.Conclusions1.In this study,the item with the highest score of perceived professional benefits of nursing students was self-growth,the item with the lowest score was the identification of relatives and friends,and the total score of professional benefit was at a high level.Multiple regression analysis showed significant differences with perceived professional benefits total scores on gender,family atmosphere and whether or not like nursing major.2.In this study,the self-efficacy of student nurses was at a middle level,but below the average level.The own personality was the only influence factor of self-efficacy.3.In this study,self-efficacy was positively correlated with perceived professional benefits.
