ObjectiveThe paper which was guided by competency theory was aimed at constructing the evaluation index system for health education ability of obstetric nurses,and developing the Health Education Assessment Scale for Obstetric Nurses(First draft)according to the index system and to modify the first draft to the Health Education Assessment Formal Scale for Obstetric Nurses(referred as formal scale),by combining the results of project analysis and the results of the pre-survey and the results of the experts evaluation.Then,in order to provide the reference for the evaluation of the health education ability of the obstetric nurses the reliability and validity of the formal scale were been tested.MethodsFirstly,based on the literature analyze,Delphi and Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)was adopted to construct the index system and to confirm the weights of the indicators.Secondly,to develop the Health Education Assessment Scale for Obstetric Nurses(First draft).Then after the pre-survey which was conducted into 3 nursing postgraduates and 1 anatomy postgraduate and 20 obstetric nurses(on June 2017),402 obstetric nurses who were selected according the Inclusion and the excluding criteria from the 20 hospitals of the 14 cities of the Liaoning province(on July to September 2017)were investigated by using the Health Education Assessment Scale for Obstetric Nurses(First draft).As for the statistically,SPSS22.0,yaahp11.1,ROST CM6.0 and AMOS 23.0were used to analyze the data.Demographic characteristics were described by descriptive statistical analysis,and the critical ratio methods was applied to the process of project analysis,and then modify the first draft to the formal scaleaccording to the results of the pre-survey and the results of the project analysis and the results of the experts evaluation.The scale-level content validity index and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to analyze the validity of the formal scale.Cronbach's ? was used to test the reliability of the formal scale.Results1.In this research,an evaluation index system of health education ability of obstetric nurses was set up by 15 experts though 3 rounds,which including 3first-level indicators,11 second-level indicators and 32 third-level indicators.The motivation of 3 rounds was 100%,the degree of expert authority was greater than 0.70,and Kendall's W were 0.202,0.191 and 0.407.2.The Health Education Assessment Scale for Obstetric Nurses(First draft)based on the index system was composed of knowledge and experience sub-scale,skill and ability sub-scale,comprehensive sub-scale,32 items totally.Combining with expert evaluation and project analysis,delete B51,B21,B22,B31,and B32.3.Validity and reliability: The formal scale was composed 3 sub-scales,27 items.S-CVI/UA: the total scale(0.82),the knowledge and experience sub-scale(0.88),the skill and ability sub scale(0.80),the comprehensive subscale(0.75).As for S-CVI/Ave were 0.91,0.90,0.90,0.96,follow the above order.And exploratory factor analysis was adopted to extract the common factors,the results indicated the numbers of the common factors were in line with the research hypothesis,and the cumulative variance contribution rates were all more than 40%.Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed the models were fitted well.The Cronbach's ? were all greater than 0.60,and the retest reliability were all greater than 0.80.Conclusions1.This research constructed a scientific evaluation index system of health education abilities of obstetric nurses including 3 first-level indicators,11second-level indicators and 32 third-level indicators,which could reflect the levelof health education ability of obstetric nurses objectively.2.Obstetric Nurses Health Education Assessment Scale was divided into 3sub-scales: knowledge and experience,skills and abilities,comprehensive quality.And formal scale has good reliability and validity.
