Objective 1.Conduct translation,back-translation and cultural adaptation to Anxiety Inventory for Respiratory disease(AIR).Based on Chinese cultural background, formulate the Chinese version of Anxiety Inventory for Respiratory disease(AIR).2.Assess the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of AIR.Discuss the applicability of AIR for patients with COPD in China.3.Preliminary assessment on the current status of COPD patients and discuss relevant influencing factors.Method From September 2015 to April 2016,conducted translation,back-translation and cultural adaptation to the English version of AIR.Invited nursing experts and bilingual specialists to revise its contents, and formulated the Chinese version of AIR.Selected 181 cases of COPD patients from Tianjin Chest Hospital and Pneumology Department of First Central Hospital of Tianjin as research subjects.Examined the reliability and validity of Chinese version of AIR.Assessed the reliability based on internal consistency check and test-retest reliability.Cronbach's ? coefficient was used to examine the internal consistency.Correlation analysis method was adopted in test-retest reliability.Validity was examined based on content validity, convergent validity and construct validity. The content validity includes levels of clauses and scales.Convergent validity primarily involves correlation coefficient check, including measurement of AIR,HADS,COPD(CAT)and ADLS.Construct validity was examined based on confirmatory factor analysis. From April to November in 2016,questionnaire survey was conducted upon 226 cases of patients with COPD from Tianjin Chest Hospital and Pneumology Department of the First Central Hospital of Tianjin.According to questionnaire forms, relevant information on social demography and diseases was collected. The Chinese version of AIR,COPD assessment(CAT),ADLS,SSRS and APGAR were used to examine anxiety status, quality of life,as well as social function and family relationship for COPD patients.Obtained better understanding of anxiety status ofpatients with COPD.Discussed influencing factors on COPD patients' anxiety.SPSS19.0 statistical package was used to conduct statistical analysis.Statistical approachesinclude: descriptive statistics,t-test,one-wayanalysis of variance,Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression.Result 1.Chinese version and psychological measurement of AIR 181 cases of patients with COPD were involved in this study, and went though 10 entries, including translation,back-translation,cultural adaptation and Chinese version of AIR.The scale reveals satisfied test-retest reliability and internal consistency reliability.Correlation coefficient of the scale is 0.90.Cronbach's ? coefficient of the whole scale is 0.91.Exponents of content validity level,scale-level CVI(S-CVI),and item-level CVI(I-CVI)were 0.89~1,0.90 and 0.98 respectively.Correlation analysis of convergent validity indicated that correlation coefficient of HADS was 0.83.Correlation coefficient of COPD assessment(CAT)was 0.44.Correlation coefficient of ADLS was 0.36.They all indicated satisfied correlation(P<0.01).Confirmatory factor analysis results indicated that factor models in Scale II fitted well.Various indexes were satisfactory. After revision,CMIN/DF,GFI,RMR,RMSEA,IFI,TLI and CFI of standardized two-factor model were 2.011?0.93?0.01?0.07?0.97?0.95 and 0.97 respectively. The Chinese version of AIR scale indicated satisfactory construct validity.2.Analysis on anxiety status, single and multiple factors for COPD patients The research finally gathered useful data on 226 patients. They included 152 males(67.3%)and 74 females(32.7%).The average age was 67.19±8.34 years old.The minimum value of AIR total scores was 0,and the maximum value was 22.The score of anxiety was 6(3-10).The single factor analysis indicated that in social demography data, educational level, understanding of diseases, financial burdens and sports contained statistical significance on patients' anxiety(P<0.05).In data relevant to diseases, frequency of illness aggravation in the past year and severity of breathing difficulty and severity of disease involved statistical significance on differences of patients' anxiety(P<0.05).In continuous variable Spearman correlation analysis, anxiety and quality of life, family functions, social support andactivities of daily living also involved statistical significance(P<0.001).Results of multiple linear regression analysis on patients' anxiety status demonstrated: severity of disease, financial burden, understanding of the illness,CAT score, and family function score were incorporated in the regression equation that uses AIR total score as the dependent variable.Their partial regression coefficients were 0.693?0.838?-1.234?0.329 and-0.653 respectively. The five variables explained 52.6% of total variation in anxiety. Conclusions 1.The study offers translated the English version of AIR into Chinese, and examined the reliability and validity of Chinese version. Results showed that Chinese version of AIR indicated satisfactory validity and reliability in patients with COPD.They can be applied in preliminary screening on patients' anxiety status. The scale entries are simple and clear for patients to understand and operate. It is also conducive to better understand anxiety status of patents with COPD.2.In China, anxiety of COPD patients is on the lower level.Severity of disease, financial burden, understanding about the illness, quality of life and family function status are primary factors for patients' concern. Therefore, the anxiety status of chronic COPD patients is regarded as one of the main indicators in everyday assessment in anxiety assessment. It can screen patients' information anxiety status in outpatient services, improve their medical conditions, and enhance patients' quality of life and long-term rate of survival.
