The Nobel Prize in Literature is considered as the most well-known, authoritative and far-reaching literature prize in the world. Many news reports focus on the prize in China, not only due to its controversial issues, but also the so-called "Nobel Prize Complex" among Chinese people. In 2012, Mo Yan, a Chinese writer, won the Nobel Prize in Literature, which made the discussion reach its climax. This paper took People’s Daily, China Reading Weekly, China Youth Daily and Southern Weekly as the objects and their news reports on the Nobel Prize in Literature as samples, meanwhile uses some news reports from other newspapers and online media, in order to explore the image of the prize according to Bourdieu’s theory of Field. The Study found that behind the media boom on the Nobel Prize in Literature, is the connection as well as struggle between "literary field" and other fields of power, including "political field", "economic field" and "mass culture field". It is also self-explanatory that media itself doesn’t live in a vacuum environment and is deeply influenced by the above mentioned factors. "Literary field" is oblique, which mainly shows in three aspects:political bias of the prize, its entertainment spirit under mass culture context and its market appeal. Ironically at the same time the literary character of the prize and literary itself comes to be not essential. With regard to the way to write news reports, it presents a carnival style:the Nobel Prize in Literature is described as a literary event, while prize winners are described as super stars; Chinese media enjoy discussing "Nobel Prize Complex", including questioning the prize and being excited by the unconfirmed nomination. Besides media Reflects on the contemporary Chinese literature, which is a good compensation for the discussion. The findings is strongly supported by the case of news reports on Mo Yan’s winning the prize in 2012.
