Compendium of Elementary Education Curriculum Reform( Trial) mentioned that various curriculum resources no matter in school and out of school should be utilized to ensure the smooth development of teaching.With the development of information-based education, news resources play a crucial role in biology teaching of middle school. Application of news resources in teaching combines biology teaching with daily life, which makes it more close to students’ real life and give them a better understanding of life science.This thesis studies the status of the application of news resources in biology teaching of junior middle school, mainly through the methods of literature, questionnaire and observation, and makes an analysis on the result. Summarizing the relevant problems in application of news resources in teaching, the present author puts forward some advice. On this basis, appropriate strategies on the application of news resources in biology teaching of junior middle school were proposed with case study. Through the practice, reflection and evaluation of teaching design, this thesis studies the effectiveness of news resources in real biology teaching, which provides reference to biology teachers.First of all, released the questionnaire named application status of news resources in biology teaching in junior middle school to biology teachers in five districts of Yantai. The result shows that the teachers have the following problems of the application of news resources in their teaching :(1) teachers do not have an adequate understanding towards news resources;(2) teachers lack the development and selection of news resources;(3) teachers lack effective application of news resources;(4) teachers do not get an effective promotion in the reflection of teaching evaluation. To solve these problems, the appropriate strategies are put forward:(1) to deepen teachers’ understanding to news resources;(2) to define the principles and methods of the selection of news resources;(3) to take the educational advantage of news resources and apply the news resources in various ways;(4) to take the advantage of collective teaching-research and strengthen teaching reflection.Secondly, the study of the teaching strategies on the application of news resources in biology teaching with specific cases analysis was made. From this, this thesis made a teaching design with the application of news resources and put it into practice.It drew conclusions through the observation, reflection and evaluation of the practice process: teaching by the application of news resources in biology can enrich the content of courses; teaching by the application of news resources in biology calls for higher requirements to teachers, which can urge teachers to improve their own quality and make a contribution to the professional development of teachers; teaching by the application of news resources in biology can broaden the horizons of students and improve their abilities of solving the problems in society and life; teaching by the application of news resources in biology can facilitate the emotional education of students and improve their biological scientific literacy, from which they can establish right values.Finally, the present author proposed further research plan towards the study.
