As international competition intensifies, more and more focus on personnel training, China adopted the reform of basic education, and strive to enhance the quality of basic education, to lay the basis for personnel training. The level of scientific literacy is the level of the core standards of the quality of talent, cultivate people’s scientific literacy has become the trend of the international reform of basic education. Since the20th century, the biological sciences has developed rapidly in many natural sciences, biological sciences there have been many major breakthrough, a variety of research and science and technology continue to be transformed into the social productive forces, to all aspects of social development and human life has brought huge the impact of a growing number of biological problems aroused public concern. Therefore, in modern and future, good biological literacy is an integral part of every citizen.Improving the biological scientific literacy of all students is the central feature of the biology curriculum reform in China, seen from the analysis and study of the biology curriculum standards, contemporary biology teaching should be committed to improving the literacy of students in biological sciences. Implement the biology classroom teaching students of biological science literacy, classroom teaching a variety of ways, eclectic, the author mainly from the use of news material in junior high school biology classroom teaching in-depth analysis of how teachers in junior high school biology implement the requirements of the curriculum standards, teaching to students of biological science literacy.For news material in the classroom teaching in geography, chemistry, politics and other disciplines have been some areas of research, but it is a biology classroom teaching and research gaps. This study from the constructivist theory, humanistic theory and lifelong learning theory three aspects of the theory reviewed, news material provide a theoretical basis for classroom teaching. Through the relevant literature and biology curriculum standards analysis to determine the "biological science literacy" by the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values constitute the three dimensions of the scientific system, which penetrate the STS education. In this study, the three dimensions of biological science literacy starting to specific teaching cases as a carrier, discusses in detail how the junior high school biology classroom application news material. And student questionnaire survey, supplemented by further instructions will press material for the feasibility of junior high school biology classroom. Eventually come to the conclusion of this study:News material on the junior high school biology knowledge have some relevance, contains many life situations, can effectively stimulate student interest, the press material for biology teaching junior high school classroom classroom teachers are worth trying and development; in junior high school biology classroom, teachers can use reasonable news material, multi-angle to guide student learning objectives for the implementation of three-dimensional biology curriculum and student of biological science literacy play a role in the formation.
