The Study Of The Teachers’ Image In The Compulsory Chinese’s Textbooks’ Which Published By Beijing People’s Education Press

With the development of the society, the teacher’s image is always changing. Long long ago, when people talked about the teacher, they thought the teachers were the tutor of human spirit, they compared teacher to the gardeners, the spring warms and the candles. But now, under the circumstances of market economy, money worship, hedonism and other harmful social thoughts influence today’s teachers. The good teacher’s images in people’s mind are changed. Chinese textbook is the most familiar book to the students. It influences the students a lot. It also shows the state’s will and national spirits. The teacher’s image in the book effects the students’ and the public’s impression of the teacher directly. It has the influence on the student’s growing. So, molding good teacher’s image is good for improving people’s impression about teacher,teachers’ self-development and textbook’s edition. According to teachers’ image historical development, the writer thought the teacher’s image today need to be diversity and lead people to become better. This paper take 18 Chinese textbooks which published by People’s Education Press for the compulsory education students as examples for researching. The writer finds out some problems about the teacher’s image in the textbooks. Firstly, the textbooks paid more attentions to the male teachers than the female teachers. Secondly, the teacher’s image is stereotyped. Thirdly,the teachers in the book are lack of knowledge. Fourthly, the textbooks lack of the social critical teacher’s image. The reason for these are: Chinese traditional conception, the different editors’ different conception, the limited materials for choosing and lacking of creative articles. For solving these problems, the writer thought, the teacher’s image in the future needs to be fit with the time requirements, treat the female teacher’s image fairly. Combine the traditional teaching method with motivating and guiding, combine loving and caring students with communicating, combine the model role with the internet navigation. The article which describe the teacher’s image could choose some today’s excellent teachers as example, make the students know more about the teachers, change people’s opinion about teacher is working for the money, fame and benefits. The teachers are not devils. Let the teachers’ true, kind and beautiful images return back to people’s view.
