With the continuous development of China’s medical and health system and deep reform of medical system, corporate hospitals are facing competition from public hospitals, private hospitals,specialist hospitals and other medical institutions, and the proportion of performance management in the hospital management is gradually increasing because of increasing survival pressure. Performance management is an important means for medical institutions to enhance their management level and helps to improve the hospital’s core competitiveness. To establish a scientifically effective and operational performance appraisal system has greatly practical significance to the healthy development of the hospital.This thesis analyzes the S Private Hospital’s major problems and causes of them in performance management combining the basic theory of performance appraisal. At the same time, combining the actual situation of S private hospital, using ways like “interviewing method”, analytic hierarchy process and etc., this paper analyzes the S private hospital’s operating system. On the basis of that, optimizing the performance appraisal system and practicing the optimized system is presented in this paper. Finally,putting forward safeguard measures of performance system from the strategic management plane and specific indicator design plane in a generalized way.Conclusions of this study can provide reference to the staff who work in hospitals with the same background above in designing the performance appraisal system, reforming the personnel system and perfecting distribution system.
