Data Mining Study On Professor Fu Canyun’s Experience Of Treating Cough Disease

ObjectiveIn order to dig the laws of syndrome differentiation, basic prescriptions and durg of professor X on cough through applying data mining technology. Then systematically summarizing and inheriting academic thoughts of Pro.Fu on cough.MethodsThrough following clinic, collecting 150 cases of cough patients’clinical medical record treated effectively by Mr Fu in April-November 2015. Then entering the data of clinical medical record which including four diagnostic methods information,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) syndrome, prescriptions and drugs into database. Finally, Using the SPSS 21.0 saftware and association rule mining algorithm to analyse the data, including frequency analysis, chi-square test, Double correspondence analysis and the rule of the dialectical treatment.Results1. According to the frequency statistics of 150 cases of medical data: ①There were 51 kinds of different symptoms in this research. Among them, a small amount of sputum, sticky sputum, sputum difficult to spit, yellow tongue, thirst, poor sleeping, tongue slightly red, white sputum, red tongue, yellow urine, spontaneous perspiration, throat itching,cough without sputum, dyspnea, lack of appetite,hot flashes, white tongue coating, yellow sputum, clear nasal discharge flow, deep pulse, floating pulse, dry throat were appeared with high frequency.②There were 24 kinds of different TCM syndromes in this study. The common TCM syndromes due to cough were wind-phlegm cough, yin-deficiency cough, wind evil cough, meihe cough, cold-phlegm cough, dry cough. ③This study involved 25 kinds of different prescriptions. The common prescriptions were Modified Zhisou Powder, Modified Maiwei Dihuang Pill, Modified Sanao Decoction, Excluded Sputum Pill, Modified Yinqiao Powder, Modified Maidong Decoction, Heat-clearing and qi-Downward Decoction, Minor Green Dragon Decoction and Modified Si-qi Decoction. ④In this study, involved a total of 97 herbs, commonly used in Mr Fu’s perscription were liquorice, balloonflower root, tuckahoe, dwarf lilyturf schizonepetae,almonds, dried tangerine peel, Cynanchum glaucescens, mint, aster, walnut, Fructus aurantii, donkey hide gelatin, Schisandra, Rhizoma alismatis, Fritillaria, Cortex Moutan,Fructus Arctii, Anemarrhena, prepared rhizome of rehmannia, cornel, yam, pericarpium trichosanthis, ginger.2. Acorrding to the analysis of 150 cases of medical records by data mining technique for association rules. We calculated the confidence and the support degree of the correlation between age and TCM syndrome types, course disease and TCM syndrome types,sputum · and TCM syndrome types, throat and TCM syndrome types, tongue-pulse and TCM syndrome types, four diagnostic information and TCM syndrome types, prescription name and TCM syndrome types,four diagnostic information and herbs. These data provided a theoretical basis for studying Mr Fu’s experience of treating cough.Conclusion1.We found the laws of Pro. FU Canyun’s differentiation of TCM Syndromes on cough.First, he determined new cough and persistent cough by clinical course.The new cough often classified excess syndrome and persistent cough often classified deficiency syndrome. Second, Among the four diagnostic information, the sputum, throat,tongue and pulse were main evidences for differentiation.2.There were six basic TCM syndromes:wind evil cough, wind-phlegm cough, cold-phlegm cough, meihe cough, yin-deficiency cough, dry cough. The main symptoms of wind evil cough were a small amount of white sticky sputum and difficult to spit out, throat itching, tongue slightly red, white tongue coating, floating and slow pulse. The main symptoms of wind-phlegm cough were a small amount of yellow sticky sputum and difficult to spit out,sore throat, red tongue, yellow tongue coating, superficial and rapid pulse.The cold-phlegm cough’s main symptoms were white clear sputum and easy to spit. The meihe cough’s main symptoms were foreign body sensation in throat.The main symptoms of yin-deficiency cough were dry cough, dry pharynx,red tongue less moss, deep pulse. The main symptoms of dry cough were sticky sputum and difficult to spit, red tongue less moss.3. The laws of prescriptions corresponding to syndromes as follows:wind evil cough treated with Zhisou Powder, cold-phlegm cough treated with Minor Green Dragon Decoction, wind-phlegm cough treated with Modified Sanao Decoction, Modified Yinqiao Powder and Heat-clearing and qi-Downward Decoction, dry cough treated with Modified Maidong Decoction, meihe cough treated with Excluded Sputum Pill,yin-deficiency cough treated with Modified Maiwei Dihuang Pill.4. The rules of adding drugs based on symptoms were as follows:he added schisandra when patients appearing Spontaneous perspiration, gelatin when dry throat, ginger when pale tongue,schisandra and gelatin when shortness of breath, fructus arctii when floating pulse, walnut kernel when deep pulse.
