Research On The Needs Of Hospital Patient Safety Training And Curriculum Construction

Background : Patient safety training is a mostimportant means to improve patient safety. The educational practice of patient safety is developing rapidly overseas.The World Health Organization to improve patient safety as a global goal. Patient safety training has become the development trend of health care industry. The development of patient safety curriculum setting and the training practice in our country relative lag,at the same time to improve the safety of patients with strong demand.Therefore,strengthening the research work for the medical personnel safety training is an important part of the current medical and health industry.Purpose: Through investigation and interviews, the research group understand the current needs content of the medical staff for patient safety cognition and patient safety training, learning about patient safety research and training experience at home and abroad. Eventually developing safety training courses in line with hospital patient characteristics, reaching the purpose of improving patient safety of hospital and the patient safety quality of medical staff, providing a reference for the medical quality management and patient safety research colleagues.Methods:(1)Collecting and analysing the international research data and training experience on patient safety through literature analysis, analysing the situation of patient safety research of China and finding out the lack of our research.(2)Through interviews with hospital staff,learning about opinions of medical staff on the hospital patient safety issues and the training requirements of patient safety.(3)Through expert consultation on patient safety training course to modify the course of patient safety.Results:(1)The United States, Australia and other countries has achieved rich experience on patient safety research, domestic patient safety research is the most prominent in the field of nursing.(2)Interviews were carried out in three groups of managers, clinical staff, and patients,all of them expressed strong demand for patient safety improvement. Although the different concerns of different categories of personnel, but shaping safety culture, improving communication problems, improving teamwork cooperations are people’s common concern.(3)Patient safety training courses are set up in accordance with the medical staff, patient safety work backbone,patient safety leader.The training course consists of four modules, including basic concepts, systematic thinking, patient safety security techniques and management tools.According to the level of personnel, training content layer by layer deepening.Conclusion:The patient safety training course is a comprehensive training course,trainees for the different categories of hospital staff, drawing on the outstanding experience and methods at home and abroad. Training courses still havemany deficiencies, the training effection has yet to be verified. We hope that the patient safety training courses can provide a different and fresh perspective of research references for the medical quality improvement and patient safety.
