Obejectives:To investigate the current status and influencing factors of self-perceived burden in patients with end-stage renal disease, in order to provide a theoretical basis to the development of clinical nursing interventions, to reduce the self-perception of burden and improve their quality of life. Methods:A total of 296 patients with end-stage renal disease receiving maintained hemodialysis in 2 tertiary hospitals and 1 secondary hospital in Linyi County were investigated by using a self-designed demographic questionnaire, the self-perceived burden scale, the perceived social support from family scale, the medical coping modes questionnaire, the general self-efficacy scale and the hospital anxiety and depression scale. SPSS19.0 was used for statistical analysis, descriptive analysis, t test, one-way ANOVA, pearson correlation analysis and multivariate stepwise regression were used to identify the influencing factors of self-perceived burden.Results:1. In the 296 patients with end-stage renal disease,96.62% of patients had the self-perceived burden, and the mean score of self-perceived burden was 29.75±5.41.2. The mean score of family support in patients with end-stage renal disease was 9.92±2.51,39.53% patients’ family support at a high level, and 2.70% patients at a low level in family support. The results of the pearson correlation indicated that the family support was negatively correlated with the self-perceived burden (r=-0.016,P <0.05).3. Among three coping styles (confrontation, avoidance and resignation coping mode) of patients with end-stage renal disease, the score of confrontation was highest, the score of avoidance was lowest; pearson correlation analysis indicated that the self-perceived burden was correlation to the confrontation (r=-0.072, P> 0.05), the avoidance (r=0.131, P< 0.05), the resignation (r=0.035, P>0.05).4. The mean score of self-efficacy of patients with end-stage renal disease was 16.04±2.96, the results of the pearson correlation indicated that the self-efficacy was negatively correlated with the self-perceived burden (r=-0.121, P< 0.05).5.39.19% of patients were possibly or certainly suffering from anxiety,41.89% of patients were possibly or certainly suffering from depression; pearson correlation analysis indicated that the anxiety and depression were positively correlated with the self-perceived burden (r=0.154 and 0.193 respectively, P< 0.05).6. In a multiple stepwise regression analysis of self-perceived burden, payment of medical expenses, complications, anxiety, avoidance coping mode and self-efficacy were included in the regression equation.Conclusions:1. The self-perceived burden in patients with end-stage renal disease was common, and at the middle level. the pearson’s correlation coefficients between the avoidance coping mode and self-perceived burden was r=0.131(P< 0.01), but the confrontation and resignation mode had no significant correlation with the self-perceived burden.2. The score of family support in patients with end-stage renal disease was above the middle level, the score of self-efficacy was below the middle level. the family support and the self-efficacy were negatively correlated with the self-perceived burden.3. The emotion of anxiety and depression in patients with end-stage renal disease were positively correlated with self-perceived burden.4. The main influencing factors of self-perceived burden in patients with end-stage renal disease were payment of medical expenses, complications, anxiety, avoidance coping mode and self-efficacy. Through the intervention of the main influencing factors, it is expected to reduce the level of self-perceived burden of patients with end-stage renal disease.
