Objective1.To learn about the condition of class teaching in college and the condition of clinical teaching and investigate and the level of core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees.and find out the problem in nursing undergraduate education.2.To analyze the correlation of class teaching and clinical teaching with the level of core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees,find out the problem in nursing undergraduate education,in order to provide a reference for the construction of nursing undergraduates core competency and the reformation of higher nursing education.Methods1. Exploring, identifying and analysis the theoretical foundation, in order to provide a reference for formulating the questionnaires of core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees and analysis the results.2.Based on the literature review study and theory analysis, questionnaires of core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees was chosen and devised.209 nursing undergraduate trainees and 155 clinical teachers ans investigated by questionnaires.3.SPSS soft ware package(version 19.0) was chosen to the data Descriptive,linear correlation analysis,linear regression analysis and independent-samples T Test were used to analyze the data.Results1.The mean self-evaluated score of the core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees was (2.97±0.47), Clinical care,Teaching-coaching,Critical thinking/research aptitude were the last 3 competency.2.Linear correlation analysis showed that the major factors on college education related to the nursing undergraduate trainees’core competency include the relationship of teaching and learning,teachers’critical thinking,the value of teaching contents,classroom lectures and leading discussions timely,among which classroom lectures and the relationship of teaching and learning effect the core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees a lot.3.Linear correlation analysis showed that the major factors on clinical teaching related to the nursing undergraduate trainees’core competency include clear internship objects and plan, multi-teaching methods, teacher’ empathy, learning together with students, making care plan together, guiding the operating points,constructive criticism, allow free discussion,encourage independent thinking and stimulate scientific thinking,among which encourage independent thinking and constructive criticism effect the core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees a lot.4.The mean score evaluated by clinical teachers of the core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees was (2.73±0.68).Clinical care,Leadership,Critical thinking/research aptitude were the last 3 competency.5.The top score and the lowest score sort of self-evaluated and clinical teacher evaluated were same:the mean score of legal/ethical practice was the top,the mean score of Critical thinking/research aptitude was the lowest.The score of self-evaluated were higher than the score of clinical teacher evaluated,the differences were significant(P<0.05)Conclusion1.The core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees is at the middle level which has yet to be improved,the Critical thinking/research aptitude and clinical care should be strengthened.2. In order to ensure the cultivation of the core competency of nursing undergraduate trainees,the nursing education idea should be changed; the the teaching methods should be innovated; the construction of teaching staff should be strengthened and the teachers’core competency should be cultivated.3. To deepen understanding of clinical teachers and nursing trainees,clinical teachers should guide the nursing trainees correct self-cognition and communicate with them frequently, so as to improve the core competency of nursing trainees.
